Genius Sports Partners with Premier League Productions

Genius Sports has signed a new partnership with Premier League Productions (PLP) to enhance live broadcasts for fans in over 185 countries worldwide with rich tracking data insights and data-driven augmentations.
PLP produces and distributes all of the Premier League’s international programming, including the broadcasting of all 380 Premier League matches per season. As part of a collaboration between PLP, the Premier League, Football DataCo and Genius Sports, PLP broadcasts now feature a live “Premier League Data Zone” viewing mode, bringing fans closer to the action with rich statistics and tracking metrics in a featured match every match round.
Everything from player names to passing accuracy, shot speeds, sprints, total distance travelled, touches in the final third and pitch maps are interwoven into the live broadcasts through a unique L-bar, meeting the ever-growing demand amongst Premier League fans worldwide for data-driven insights. Data Zone will also integrate official Fantasy Premier League updates and rankings to enhance the fan entertainment experience.
The “Premier League Data Zone” has already been adopted by NBC Sports, Sky Sports, Optus Australia, ESPN Brazil, Canal+ France and other leading broadcasters and will resume this weekend with Arsenal vs Manchester City on Sunday, 8 October.
“Through Premier League Productions and their international broadcast partners, Genius Sports is revolutionising the viewing experience for millions of Premier League fans around the world. Powered by our Second Spectrum AI technology, we deliver an enriched visual experience with advanced analytics and key performance metrics in the live broadcast,” Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, said.
Genius Sports is also FDC’s exclusive supplier of official live data to the global sports betting sector, providing the fastest, most accurate feed on all competitions organised by the Premier League, English Football League and Scottish Professional Football League. Through its Second Spectrum technology, Genius Sports powers augmented, data-driven broadcasts of the Premier League, NFL and NBA on CBS, ESPN, NBA League Pass and TSN.
