SPOTLIGHT SPORTS GROUP’S RACING POST BRAND UNVEILS REVOLUTIONARY SMART VIEW RACECARD BUILT FOR RETAIL AND DIGITAL AUDIENCES

Spotlight Sports Group (SSG), a world-leading technology, content, and media company specialising in sports betting, has developed a brand new racecard powered by its industry-leading horseracing media and tech supplier, Racing Post.
The revolutionary racing product, Smart View, has the potential to change the way racing bettors see racecards. It will also appeal to a new audience of prospective racing fans, due to the modern and visually appealing design of Smart View. The product has been developed over several years of work.
The Smart View technology has already been introduced to 900+ retail betting shops owned by Entain, as the operator has focused on providing its customers with the innovative racecard in order to modernise the racing betting experience. Smart View has also been featured in the print edition of Racing Post, with the digital version to follow in the coming weeks.
In addition to being available in Entain betting shops, Racing Post’s research team has tested the product in focus groups and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. In one test group that featured 145 people, 93% of the participants said that they would use the Smart View racecard if it were available to them.
Smart View’s modern design was developed by taking visual inspiration from popular video games such as Fifa and Football Manager to showcase racecards in a way that feels more natural to a less experienced racing audience.
The Smart View racecard will be available in both retail and digital environments in the new year, with the aim of being able to educate both existing racing bettors and consumers who are new to betting on the sport.
Discussing the importance of simplifying the traditional racecard, Entain’s Transformation and Experience Director, Leo Walker said “The traditional form layout for horseracing is complex. It is a barrier to entry for a novice and we hope we can support attracting new customers to the sport through simplifying the complex world of horse form.”
Spotlight Sports Group’s Retail Director, Alan Pepperell discussed the goal of Smart View, saying: “The main purpose of developing the Smart View racecard was to create an appealing option for an audience that finds traditional racecards daunting. Smart View offers a simple way of enabling bettors to make an informed betting decision rather than just guessing but without requiring them to decipher a lot of fairly unintuitive symbols and abbreviations.”
Spotlight Sports Group’s retail services are powered by the Racing Post and are proven to drive revenues with a rich content experience for betting audiences. To learn more about Smart View and other retail services visit: https://www.racingpostretailservices.com/
