99.9% uptime sounds reliable, until you realise it means 8+ hours of downtime a year. For an iGaming operator, it is a business threat. One hour offline during a major promo can erase months of planning, budget, and player trust. Multiply that by eight.

eLBA, the European Lotto Betting Association, has elected Ed Mouton, Chief Executive Officer of Gameworx, as its new Chairman. Elicia Bravo, Chief Strategy Officer of Lottoland, was re-elected as Vice Chair of the one-year-old association, which advances the interests of the lottery betting sector.

Mr. Mouton takes the helm of eLBA just four months after joining the organisation, which represents six of the biggest companies in the fast-growing lottery betting sector. As CEO and former Chief Operating Officer of Gameworx, a Malta-based provider of jackpot games including online lotto betting, he brings a wealth of experience in the online betting industry.

“It’s great to be elected to run eLBA at such an exciting time for the lotto betting sector, which is growing fast by creating new opportunities for European citizens to bet on the results of state lotteries,” he said. “I look forward to working with the other members to promote better understanding of  lotto betting, which provides a sustainable, socially responsible, online complement to state lotteries.”

Mrs. Bravo was re-elected in her position as Vice Chair, a testament to her work and contribution to eLBA’s work to date. “It is great to look back at what we have achieved in the past year and I am excited to work with Ed and the rest of the members towards the development of a sensible and effective regulatory regime for our industry.”

Mr. Mouton acknowledged the good work of Ms. Bravo and outgoing Chair Elisa Field of MyLotto24, who actively led eLBA’s efforts to share information with regulators and promote informed and evidence-based regulation of lotto betting across Europe in the first year of the association’s existence.  Thanks to eLBA’s advocacy work the organisation has successfully demonstrated to national authorities in several countries that lotto betting products are legitimate gambling products based on a sustainable business model, contrary to some myths frequently attributed to the industry.

Lotto betting has become increasingly popular amongst customers in Europe. Rising demand as well as growing recognition of lotto betting products has led to the development of thriving, competitive markets in places such as Ireland, the UK, Malta, Gibraltar and Sweden.

eLBA aims to give the industry a voice and help achieve a sustainable and coherent regulatory environment in Europe.
