The organizer of DPC* 2018-2019 season’s final Major** in Dota 2, Epic Esports Events (a member of ESforce Holding), has summed up the results of the centerpiece esports event of CIS region. Dota 2 EPICENTER Major’s multiple-channel broadcasts have gathered 45 795 555 views, not accounting for the Chinese viewing numbers.

15 448 477 users overall followed the series’ qualifier and final stages, more than half of them – via Russian-speaking Major broadcast of RuHub studio. In total, EPICENTER Major was streamed in 21 languages all over the world.

An all-time high peak of 544 401 viewers was recorded during the tournament’s grand final match between European Team Liquid and Chinese Vici Gaming. As a result, the Moscow series’ final stage became the most-watched in the world out of all DPC 2018-2019 season Majors***.

The final games of EPICENTER Major took place 28-30 June in Moscow’s “CSKA Arena”. For the first time in the history of EPICENTER series, the organizers constructed a 360° visibility stage. As a result, the stadium accommodated 31 102 viewers during the competition’s three final days, giving the visitors a clear view of the in-game battles in real-time.

Dota 2 EPICENTER Major with a prize pool of $1 000 000 was held in Moscow 22-30th of June. After defeating Team Liquid in the final best-of-5 series, a Chinese team Vici Gaming claimed the title of the tournament champion and $350 000. EPICENTER Major featured 15 thousand DPC points, a metric required to advance the world’s primary esports event – The International in Dota 2, in addition to its prize pool. At the moment, The International 2019 prize pool is nearing $26 000 000, making it the biggest prize pool in the history of international esports.

EPICENTER Major was the second Major-class series held in Russia. In spring 2018, Epic Esports Events organized EPICENTER XL in Moscow, which became the second most viewed Dota 2 event of the year and the most viewed Dota 2 event in the world among the series hosted by independent organizers in 2018.

Epic Esports Events specializes in organizing international competitions and is the organizer of EPICENTER series in Dota 2 and CS:GO in Moscow and Saint Petersburg throughout 2016-2018. Their first Dota 2 series was deemed the best Live Entertainment event by a leading European award EUBEA 2016, and EPICENTER XL 2019 was awarded the first place in nomination Russian Event per Eventex Awards.
