OKTO takes on Betting on Sports with suite of mobile payment solutions

OKTO Group, the financial technology provider specialising in digital payment and player engagement applications, will be showcasing the latest wave of gaming payments disruption at next week’s Betting on Sports in London.
OKTO’s commercial team will be at stand #R18 during the prestigious event, which takes place from the 17th to 20th September at Kensington Olympia, to demonstrate how the company’s mobile-centric payment solution for gaming can drive player engagement and cut transaction costs for operators.
The company’s director of gaming, Simon Dorsen, will be also kicking off the first panel discussion of the associated Payments Expert Forum on September 18th, tackling the future relationship between retail betting and fintech.
With years of experience in both the payments and betting industries, Dorsen, who was recently appointed to build on the success of OKTO’s digital banking, mobile payment and retail products in Europe, will be unpacking the impact of financial technologies on consumer gaming interactions.
The Athens-based fintech firm is harnessing the mobile-based payments revolution by bridging the gap between the retail betting and payments experience. Its unique products provide a seamless journey across multiple player channels, as well as add-on loyalty and promotional functions that deliver a player-retaining service.
With experience in directly operating an established network of 5,000 points of sale across multiple jurisdictions and processing transactions reaching up to €1 billion, the payment service provider is well positioned for continuing its rapid growth in the region.
Commenting on OKTO’s plans for European expansion, Simon Dorsen, Director of Gaming at OKTO, said:
“Betting on Sports has a fantastic reputation as an event which opens real business opportunities and our attendance this year will no doubt be the start of some exciting partnerships. We can’t wait to demonstrate how our innovative solutions not only reduce cash handling costs for operators, but also speed up the flow of transactions and deliver a better player experience.
“I’m particularly looking forward to joining a lively discussion on how fintech can transform the retail betting experience – a topic very close to us at OKTO.”
