MGM Resorts’ Scott Butera to address NYC Sports Betting Investor Summit

MGM Resorts’ Interactive Gaming President added to roster following Buffalo Wild Wings deal
MGM Resort’s Interactive Gaming President Scott Butera is set to address delegates at next month’s Sports Betting Investor Summit in New York.
The gaming company and its sports betting venture, ROAR Digital, announced a multi-year partnership with sports bar brand Buffalo Wild Wings last week, which will see the BETMGM digital gaming platform introduced throughout its venues.
Among the first collaborations will be a new Buffalo Wild Wings sports bar that is due to open at Mandalay Bay next year, with other set to follow across the chain’s 1,200 strong restaurant estate as states continue to pass sports betting legislation
Butera will discuss the unique deal, as well as opportunities that sports betting presents for land-based casinos, on the opening panel of the Investor Summit at New York’s Metropolitan West on Monday 4th November.
He will be joined on the panel, which will be moderated by Morgan Stanley, by Kresimir Spajic, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Online Gaming and Sports Betting, Hard Rock International.
The one-day investor summit is set to be followed by two days of debate at Sports Betting USA, which will examine the growing industry and its value chain through the lens of four crucial components: regulation, acquiring customers, maximising the value chain, and financing this $150 Billion opportunity.
Now in its third year, the show is well on the way to being sold-out again, with tickets sales up ten per cent on this time last year, according to event director Rory Credland.
He said: “Speakers like Scott Butera are what makes this a must-attend event, as they are at the cutting edge of what is set to be a $5 billion industry in the next five years.
“We have a stellar line-up again this year, with all of the major sports leagues represented, and a host of very knowledgeable speakers who will be able to shed light on all of the current challenges and opportunities.”
“As the landscape changes, we are also seeing more media companies attending, as well as key stakeholders like the National Indian Gaming Association, and some of the biggest and most experienced suppliers from both sides of the Atlantic.”
Among the highlights of this year’s show will be a presentation by New York Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr and New York State Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, who will share the state’s vision for sports betting.
They will be joined by senior executives from leading operators and media companies, including William Hill USA, Penn National Gaming, and The Score, as well as representatives of sporting organisations including the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, PGA Tour, and NASCAR.
