    Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise and Hard Rock Digital announced the grand opening of the Hard Rock Sportsbook at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Sportsbook sits adjacent to the remodeled sports bar and restaurant at Twin Arrows and features eight kiosks and two betting windows.

    The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto has recently announced that it will be launching its Poker Room later this summer. Also, its brand-new 400-room hotel will also commence operations with an August 1, 2023 launch date. The company said reservations for The Hotel are now open and can be booked.

    Pollard Banknote Limited has congratulated the British Columbia Lottery Corporation on the launch of Canada’s first Scratch & Win instant ticket based on JAWS, the original summer blockbuster from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

    JCM Global has installed its iVIZION bill validators and ICB Intelligent Cash Box system at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, LA. The iVIZION installation is an upgrade from JCM’s UBA bill validators. Now iVIZION is protecting each of the casino’s 2044 games.

    Partnerships

    9Rooftops announced the continuation of its agency-of-record relationship with the Pennsylvania Lottery after a competitive review. The two organisations have worked together in various forms for the last two decades.

    Valhallan Esports Training announced a partnership with Mavix, a premier gaming products company, to provide an ergonomic solution for gamers at any level. The partnership marks Mavix as the official outfitter of seating at all Valhallan locations.

    International Game Technology announced that its award-winning IGT PlaySports technology is now powering retail sports betting at Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi, Miss.

    Fitzdares has awarded its contract for digital operations in Canada to igaming and betting specialist Affili8. Affili8 is currently working with operators, iGaming businesses and affiliates in the UK, US, New Zealand, Brazil, South Africa and Romania, as well as Canada.

    International Game Technology PLC released the following statement regarding the passing of Fabio Cairoli, IGT CEO Global Lottery:

    “IGT announced today with great sadness that Fabio Cairoli, IGT CEO of Global Lottery, has suddenly passed away. Fabio was an outstanding executive. He was distinguished by his passion, drive, sincerity, and commitment to results and innovation. His leadership of the Global Lottery Sales and Operations, Italy Lottery Operations, Global Lottery Product and Sales Development, and Global Lottery Technology and Support functions was unparalleled. While these operations remain in very capable and experienced hands, we recognize that many in the lottery industry also held personal relationships with Fabio, and that he was a greatly respected friend within and beyond the industry,” said Marco Sala, IGT Executive Chair. “At this time, IGT extends its deepest condolences to Fabio Cairoli’s family, as we dedicate our efforts to supporting their needs during this difficult time.”

    Prior to his role as CEO Global Lottery, Fabio served as Chief Executive Officer, Italy, where he was responsible for managing all business lines, marketing services, and sales for the Company’s Italian operations. He joined the Company’s predecessor, Lottomatica Group S.p.A., in 2012 as Senior Vice President of Business.

    WynnBET announced that its online casino and sports betting platform is live in the state of West Virginia. Players can download WynnBET on the Apple and Google Play Stores. West Virginia is the 11th state where WynnBET is operational, and it represents the third state in which WynnBET offers its online casino, joining Michigan and New Jersey.

    The Peru Gaming Show (PGS) 2023 from June 14-15 in Lima hosted a great industry gathering and a comprehensive performance show of all that’s hot and new for the Peruvian market. In prominent position, NOVOMATIC presented all the trending gaming technologies for the present and the future of the region’s industry.

    Super Group announced that it has been added to the Russell 2000 Index. Super Group was officially added to the Russell 2000 Index as part of the annual reconstitution of the entire family of Russell indexes that took place after the close of trading on Friday, June 23, 2023. In addition to the Russell 2000 Index, Super Group will automatically be included in the Russell 3000 Index.

    Betr Holdings announced its $35M Series A2 round of financing valuing the company at $300M pre-money. The company held a set of initial closings for its Series A2 round of financing in Q2 and is scheduled to conduct a final closing in Q3. The round is co-led by Roger Ehrenberg via IA Sports Ventures and Eberg Capital, and Fuel Venture Capital, with Fuel expanding their investment size in Betr from $10M invested to date to $20M total.

    The Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock International received a Freedom Award from PACT (Protect All Children from Trafficking) at the recent Freedom Awards Benefit at the Prince George Ballroom in New York City. PACT is the new name for the organisation formerly known as ECPAT-USA.

    Partnerships

    The BIG3 announced they have signed an exclusive partnership with PrizePicks, the largest skill-based fantasy sports operator in North America, to become the BIG3’s daily fantasy provider and further the convergence of basketball, hip-hop and fantasy sports.

    Betsson has secured its biggest marketing commitment for the Argentine market, becoming the principal shirt sponsor of Boca Juniors. Betsson had agreed to definitive terms to become Chief Sponsor of Boca, whose matchday shirt has been sponsor-less since July 2022. Betsson will pay $7.5m to place its brand on the front of Boca Junior’s matchday kit for the next 18 months.

    International Game Technology announced that Santan Mountain Casino in Chandler has opened its doors with a diverse offering of IGT’s leading gaming solutions. IGT ADVANTAGE, the company’s comprehensive casino management system, will connect over 800 slot games on the gaming floor, including a compelling selection of IGT’s performance-proven games on the company’s state-of-the-art cabinets.

    Jackpocket is teaming up with comedian and television personality Scott Rogowsky on the company’s first live game. Known for being the original and wildly popular host of HQ Trivia, Rogowsky will serve as host and executive producer for Jackpocket Live, a brand new entertainment experience launching later this year on the Jackpocket app.

    International Game Technology PLC announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Services Ltd., has signed a transition agreement with Loterie Nationale Belgium (“LNB”) to continue providing LNB’s lottery and iLottery central systems technology and related lottery products for a maximum period of four years.

    The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has been awarded the North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) Excellence in Gaming Regulation Award for its work developing and implementing the regulatory framework for Ontario’s new open and competitive internet gaming (iGaming) market that launched in April 2022.

    Pixbet, powered by WeAreGame’s iGaming platform solution, has received approval from Loterj in the first stage of the Accreditation for Sports Betting. It is the first stage of official Accreditation for Sports Betting, and the Loterj Accreditation Notice is the first to authorise a Brazilian sports betting service.

    The Ministry of Finance in Chile has published a new guidance document outlining proposed technical measures for the regulation of online gambling in the country. Chile is expected to liberalise online gambling by the end of this year. The guidance covers proposed measures to on tax generation, market integrity and commercial standards.

    In order to protect the public interest and ensure Ontario’s internet gaming market operates responsibly and with integrity, the Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has served BV Gaming Limited and Fitzdares Canada Limited with Notices of Monetary Penalty totalling $30,000 for alleged infractions of the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming.

    Galaxy Gaming Inc. announced that they have reached an agreement with the Talisman Group, creators of the EZ Baccarat table game, for the exclusive distribution rights for EZ Baccarat, in the US, Canada and the UK beginning on September 9, 2023.

    International Game Technology PLC announced the expansion of its high-performing omnichannel Powerbucks games and popular MegaJackpots games in Canada via a deployment on the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) online gaming site PlayAlberta.ca. This launch marks the first time that IGT’s Powerbucks and MegaJackpots games are deployed coast-to-coast across Canada.

    Partnerships

    International Game Technology PLC announced that its subsidiary IGT Global Services Limited (IGT), in consortium with BOLDT Gaming S.A., Consorcio GTECH Boldt Gaming, will continue operating and providing lottery technology to La Junta de ProtecciĂłn Social (JPS) in Costa Rica, via a new contract extension through August 2024.

    Gaming lifestyle organisation XSET has announced its collaboration with Red Sox, a storied franchise with a rich history and an unparalleled legacy, to introduce the first of its kind activation, “XSET Day at Fenway Park”.

    Venuetize, Everi Holdings Inc.’s leading mobile technology and advanced e-commerce platform for the sports, hospitality and entertainment industries, announced it has been selected by Inter Miami CF as the foundation for their fan engagement mobile strategy. Everi’s Venuetize platform enhances the Inter Miami CF mobile strategy, giving all Inter Miami supporters a refreshed user experience.

    Table Trac Inc., the developer and provider of CasinoTrac, a casino management system with more than 280 casino customers in 13 countries, announced a new partnership with gaming fintech disruptors, Koin Payments and Marker Trax, to introduce its KTMobile app with an integrated cashless solution, for its customers.

    Dick Clark Productions and POWERBALL announced that they are teaming up for a fifth consecutive year to present the “Powerball First Millionaire of the Year” promotion.

    IGT announces review of strategic alternatives for Global Gaming and PlayDigital to enhance shareholder value

    International Game Technology PLC  announced that its Board of Directors is evaluating potential strategic alternatives for IGT’s Global Gaming and PlayDigital segments in order to unlock the full value of IGT’s portfolio. IGT’s Board of Directors is considering a broad range of potential alternatives, including but not limited to a sale, merger or spin-off, as well as retaining and further investing in the Global Gaming and PlayDigital businesses.

    “ Over the last three years, IGT has sharpened its strategic focus by reorganizing around core product verticals, monetizing non-core assets, reducing structural costs and significantly improving its credit profile,” said Marco Sala, IGT Executive Chair.“We believe the intrinsic value of IGT’s market-leading businesses and diversified cash flow profile is not currently reflected in our stock price and the timing is right to assess opportunities that may enhance value for IGT’s shareholders.”

    “IGT is a global leader with deep expertise in lottery, land-based gaming, iGaming and sports betting,” said Vince Sadusky, IGT CEO. “We remain focused on the execution of our growth objectives and multi-year goals outlined in our November 2021 Investor Day as we undertake this review and evaluation of strategic alternatives.     IGT has retained Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Capital and Mediobanca as financial advisors and Sidley Austin and White & Case are serving as legal counsel to assist IGT in exploring strategic alternatives.

    No decision has been made regarding any alternative, there is no timeline for the review and there can be no assurance that the exploration of strategic alternatives will result in any transaction. IGT does not intend to comment on or provide updates regarding these matters unless and until it determines that further disclosure is appropriate or required.

    Location identity company Incognia announced its entrance into the regulated US gaming market with the launch of its integrated geolocation compliance and account security solution.

    Continent 8 has expanded its Atlantic City data centre footprint, adding 30% more capacity. The stage three expansion, approved by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, has seen a 5330 sq ft Modular Data Centre addition to the site.

    PENN Entertainment unveiled an enhanced customer loyalty programme, PENN Play, replacing its mychoice branded programme. The new programme greatly expands the ways PENN’s 26 million loyalty members can earn and redeem rewards across the company’s portfolio of entertainment brands.

    NorthStar Gaming Holdings has announced that it has entered into an advisory agreement with Blue Sky Trading & Consulting Ltd to provide advisory services to NorthStar relating to capital markets, including capital raising and mergers & acquisitions.

    Yahoo has acquired Wagr, a peer-to-peer sports betting app focused on making gaming social and accessible. The acquisition of Wagr augments and accelerates Yahoo Sports’ vision to create and deliver the most compelling fantasy and gaming products.

    Bally’s Corporation announced that the Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort officially opened 40,000 square feet of new gaming space in a landmark expansion of its casino floor.

    Las Vegas Sands has signed a preliminary deal for a 99-year contract for the usage of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, with a plan to develop an integrated resort with a casino on Long Island.

    New Partnerships

    International Game Technology announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with the Maine State Lottery for IGT’s patented Cash Pop draw-based game.

    The National Hockey League has entered into a partnership and strategic investment with games provider Low6. Low6 will be the official free-to-play games partner of the league and will continue to develop and support NHL games on its platform.

    Rush Street Gaming announced that Atlantic City, NJ casino executive Joe Lodise is the new general manager of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady.

    Mohegan Sun has appointed David Fausel as Director of Advertising. Fausel brings over 20 years of advertising experience to Mohegan’s flagship property and is a familiar face to the Mohegan brand, spearheading a marketing modernisation initiative that introduced an increase in digital, social and CRM efforts through ad agency Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners from 2004–2010.

    GLl has appointed Alicia Monahan as client services executive. Monahan will be based at GLI’s Las Vegas lab with the client services team. Monahan brings valuable operator, technical and change management experience to GLI. Most recently, she served as Release and Deployment Manager for Resorts World Las Vegas, where she directed several aspects of the luxury property’s change management and project management processes.
