Thailand police busts gambling ring, nabs 72-year-old operator

The police force in Phuket, Thailand, in association with the soldiers of Royal Thai Army has busted an illegal gambling ring, which led to the arrest of a 72-year-old man, who is known as the manager of the gambling ring.
The forces raided a building located in Division 3 at the rear of the Phuket Villa Kathu housing estate, located on Phra Phuket Kaew Rd. Almost all gamblers fled the scene, leaving only the 72-year-old Somchai “Jeap” Onpanyasin behind, who was physically incapable of running away. Nevertheless, he admitted that he is the “gambling manager.”
The venue offering an illegal card game called “89.”
The police also seized five packs of cards and B8,700 in cash at the scene.
