Jan Jones Blackhurst joins Caesars’ Board
Caesars Entertainment Corp has roped in Jan Jones Blackhurst into its board of directors. She has been serving as the Executive Vice President, Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility of the company. Blackhurst shot to fame as the first female mayor of Las Vegas between 1991 and 1999. She is replacing Richard Schifter, who resigned his position last week, in the board.
The 70-year-old Blackhurst will step down from her Executive VP role from 1 October 2019 after 20 years with the company, in which time she oversaw a range of Corporate Social Responsibility programs including diversity in the workforce.
Her elevation to the Board of Directors comes as the company looks to complete its US$17.8 billion merger with Eldorado Resorts.
