Fortnite streamers praise Skrmiish app after inaugural Challenger Series event
Leading content creators have praised a new app that adds a fresh dimension to Fortnite streaming.
Ten popular streamers including Reddysh, Vohlii, Cozy, Tyla, Electra and Higgsy were among the first to try Skrmiish – a pioneering mobile app that gives streamers a new way to engage their communities, with fully managed leaderboard and tournaments models for Fortnite and PUBG.
Over five days in January, 10 US and EU streamers helped launch the app globally, hosting the inaugural Skrmiish Challenger Series, with thousands of Fortnite fans in 26 countries around the world playing for the daily prize pools of $1,000.
The event was a hit with both streamers and fans.
Cozy said: “It’s fun to play against other streamers but what I really get stoked about is getting to really interact with the community. What’s really cool about this app is that it’s live updating what’s happening in the game.
Electra said: “I love the app. It’s so good. It makes everything so much easier.”
And Olten added: “It’s just different. We’re so used to doing the same thing. This gives us some fresh air. It’s a really simple process.”
Check out what the streamers had to say in this video. During the event, there were thousands of unique live Skrmiish matches from users in 26 countries including the US, UK, Canada, South Africa, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.
More than 8,000 minutes of stream time was broadcast over the five day event with viewers seeing more than 1,000,000 minutes of Skrmiish viewer challenges as well as streamer v streamer battles. This brought a wave of new users to the app with over 50% of users playing more than seven games, smashing initial expectations.
‘Gearing up for something truly massive’
Skrmiish CEO Luke Grob said: “Launching a new technology product in the United States and Europe is no small feat, which is why I am immensely proud of what we have been able to achieve.
“With our growing player base we will be able to focus our efforts on bringing in new product features that offer all sorts of improved opportunities for streamers and players of all skill levels.
“Right now, we’re gearing up to announce something truly massive and can’t wait to share it with the world.”
