“INCENTIVE GAMES CEO JOHN GORDON RECOGNISED FOR SERVICE INDUSTRY AWARD”
Newly re-branded B2B software developer Incentive Games’ CEO and co-founder John Gordon has been nominated for the 2018 Great British Entrepreneur of the Year award.
John is one of six finalists for ‘Service Industries Entrepreneur of the Year’, which has received a record number of applications and nominations – more than double the year prior, for his work as CEO of Incentive Games.
Previously Premier Punt Group, Incentive Games have been moving from strength to strength since completing their rebranding campaign, developing work both domestic and abroad, including establishing a market presence and partnerships in Africa and the US. Building on their success designing industry-specific B2B tools as PPG, Incentive Games has diversified their offering significantly with products now applicable to any industry and have been tipped as one of five companies to watch during this year’s Engage Invest Exploit showcase.
Incentive Games build software for businesses which allows them to acquire customers at a fraction of the industry standard cost through innovative gamification. They create engaging, accessible apps which go beyond customer acquisition in providing businesses the means to retain their existing customers more effectively, as well as monetise their client’s existing userbase through in-app purchases and upselling.
John, a lifelong entrepreneur, is a chemical engineer by trade; attending University at age 16 and going on to become one of the youngest lead chemical engineers at industry giants BP. Eventually, John says, the call of the entrepreneur was simply too strong – “I just had too many interesting concepts that I wanted to bring to reality but couldn’t due to my hectic work schedule. Eventually, for all entrepreneurs I think, the penny drops, and I thought ‘Okay, that’s it, I don’t want to design oil-rigs anymore, I want to design apps!”
On being nominated for the award, John emphasised the importance of team spirit – “It’s fantastic to be nominated the Great British Entrepreneur awards – Incentive Games has been built on a set of shared values, every single person in the team works tirelessly to drive Incentive Games to the forefront of B2B software development, where our work will allow other business to grow and realise their own ambitions. It’s this sense of purpose and support that makes a team truly effective, and I’m thrilled to be able to lead this team and the company.”
The Royal Bank of Scotland Great British Entrepreneur Awards, in this its sixth year, have recognised some prominent figures emerge in the past including representatives from household names such as David Buttress of Just Eat and James Watt of BrewDog.
Gordon Merrylees, head of entrepreneurship at NatWest: “Entrepreneurial spirit is still clearly alive and well, and NatWest is thrilled to be able to continue to support these awards to celebrate success with the business that are the lifeblood of the UK economy as they start, scale and succeed.”
The Royal Bank of Scotland Great British Entrepreneur Awards will celebrate entrepreneurship across several categories at 5 gala finals across the UK, including; Cardiff, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester & London.
