MGA organises workshop for BOV officials

Bank of Valletta plc. (BOV) and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) collaborated on a one-day online workshop focused on the Gaming Industry in Malta (Industry), which was held on 13 October 2020.
This workshop served as a platform for both entities to delve into further detail as to how they relate to the Industry. As the Regulator tasked with overseeing all gaming operations in and from Malta, the MGA provided the BOV with an overview of the Industry, including the Maltese Legal Framework’s most salient points, while also providing an in-depth explanation of its regulatory-procedures, starting from its licence onboarding processes, through to the ongoing monitoring procedures it undertakes vis-à-vis its authorised persons. The MGA focused also on how the banking sector and its key players are a crucial link in the ecosystem.
This workshop provided BOV with increased insight into the industry and the MGA’s oversight thereon, so that in turn BOV can implement such knowledge in its interaction with the industry.
