The National Lottery Community Fund has published a report highlighting the impact of the £650m of National Lottery, government and third-party funding that has been invested in community infrastructure over the past five years.

The report, which was made by Connections Make Communities, shows what this money, awarded by the Fund, has helped achieve during the time period of 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2021.

The funding has supported almost 10,000 building renovations to make these spaces greener and more accessible and comfortable for local communities, as well as nearly 900 accessibility infrastructure projects, providing improvements like lifts and ramps.

Funding has also helped to ensure places are fully inclusive. Through £100,000 of National Lottery funding, for example, Community First has brought together more than 350 village hall committees across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, to help these spaces remain at the heart of communities. In a bid to reduce isolation and loneliness, the group has also created a guide for dementia friendly village halls, which includes advice on how to make the design and layout of a building welcoming for people living with dementia.

A total of 1500 village halls and community centres have received National Lottery funding in the past five years across England and Wales. On average, that’s four community buildings per local authority area, totalling almost £120 million.

Power to Change is the funder’s largest investment in community enterprise. In its first five years, over £85 million has been awarded to nearly 1300 community businesses including shops, pubs and factories. Two-thirds (67%) of this went to the 30% most deprived areas of England.

Faiza Khan MBE, Director of Engagement and Insight at The National Lottery Community Fund, said: “This report highlights the impact money invested into community assets has on people’s lives across the UK. Places like village halls, community cafés and leisure centres are at the heart of our communities and provide a focal point for people to come together, make connections and build friendships and support networks. These spaces play a vital role in helping communities to prosper and thrive and will be more important than ever as communities rebuild from the pandemic.”

Pragmatic Play has released its new video slot Greedy Wolf.

Set across 5×4 reels, the title features 20 paylines that are filled with iconic characters drawing inspiration from the famous tale The Three Little Pigs. Players are aided in forming matching combinations of these pig and wolf symbols by the titles wild which substitutes all other symbols in game.

The base game is also home to a variety of modifiers. The Greedy Wolf mechanic adds a fully stacked and expanded wolf symbol to reel three, whilst transforming any pig symbols present across other reels into the higher paying wolf symbol.

The three little pigs wilds and respin feature, adds wilds to the reels that can be moved by the wolf with respins taking place until all wilds leave the game board. Additionally, this wolf can also guarantee a win, allowing for new symbols to be landed at the top of the game board awarding the player 20x or higher on any losing spin.

Landing at least six scatter symbols will award six free spins to players. All previously landed scatter symbols will have a frame of straw built around them with any additional scatter symbols landing during the free spins round also gaining this frame. Landing a scatter symbol on a space where a scatter has previously landed upgrades the frame firstly to wood and then to brick and finally to castle. These are revealed at the end of the free spins round to be holding an instant win prize with the cash amount contained increasing as the frames building materials do.

Which altcoins can you use for gambling when bitcoin is crashing?

Since the advent of online betting, Bitcoin has been the preferred cryptocurrency. Time, however, is evolving. In the first quarter of 2022, its share fell dramatically. This week alone, Bitcoin’s value dropped by 15% over 24 hours, reaching its lowest point since December 2020. And this, according to experts, is tied to the increased interest in Ethereum and Litecoin, the second-leading cryptocurrencies. Their respective market capitalizations have increased by 3.45% and 2.95%.

What to expect for crypto betting in 2022?

According to the research, it is expected that cryptos would see growth, albeit with adjustments to coin share. And the diversity of cryptocurrencies used for betting will be a major trend.

But what is an altcoin, and which one can you use for gambling when bitcoin is crashing?

What is an altcoin?

The word “altcoin” gained popularity in 2017 when hundreds of different Bitcoin alternatives appeared on the market. However, by 2022, most of the top 100 cryptocurrencies will no longer be Bitcoin alternatives. Today, the market is flooded with new applications and products, some vastly different from others. With millions of cryptocurrencies already in circulation, it’s hard to keep up with everything that’s going on in the market.

In short, altcoins are non-Bitcoin cryptocurrencies. However, some are popular, with technological improvements that set them apart from Bitcoin. And there are several reasons why players prefer altcoins over Bitcoin. Let’s find out some of them below.

Why using altcoins for online gambling is a good idea?

There are many good reasons for gamblers to use altcoins. Here are some of them:

  • Availability

When compared to other coins, gambling with bitcoin can be expensive. Bitcoin is the most expensive coin right now (even though recently it has crashed seriously) and can be costly to buy compared to Ripple and Litecoin. They cost less.

  • Quicker transactions

Unlike Bitcoin, sending altcoins like Ethereum to online casinos for transactions is faster. In addition, some altcoins have added features that help transactions go faster.

  • Wise investment

Some altcoins can be used as an investment tool because their value keeps increasing. Because of this, investors buy a lot of altcoins to increase their chances of making money.

So, which are the most popular altcoins?

The following are some of the most popular altcoins used by online gamblers in the industry, especially when Bitcoin suffers its worst times.

Top gambling altcoins

Ether (ETH) – Popular cryptocurrencies are ranked by market capitalization, and Ethereum is the second-largest after bitcoin. In addition, Ethereum transactions move quickly, mainly when depositing money to online casinos.

Dogecoin (DOGE)– Even though it was made from an internet meme, the coin has become more prevalent in recent months. And casinos love it.

Litecoin – With quicker transaction speeds and cheaper costs than Bitcoin, Litecoin is undoubtedly one of the best options for gambling, particularly after a Bitcoin meltdown.

Conclusion

For the final remarks, we would like to point out that while Bitcoin struggles to regain its former glory, you can save time. Select one of the various altcoins and play freely in any crypto casino, like FortuneJack, where you can find the most exciting gambling atmosphere.
