How We Chose Our Best Australian Online Casinos

Fairness – Each casino site in our list uses Random Number Generator to ensure all their casino games are fair and decided by chance.

Game variety – We chose online casinos according to how they mix up their games. So whether you’re looking to play online pokies, poker, roulette, blackjack or anything else, we’ve got you covered.

Casino Bonuses – The best online casinos come with the best bonuses. We tracked them down and made sure to only add those that also come with fair wagering requirements. It’s more fun that way.

User experience for Australian players – Lastly, we narrowed down our list to include online casinos that cater to Australian players in terms of the overall user experience, and this especially relates to the specific types of games, the payment methods, and the themes and designs.

Best Australian Online Casinos

1. Red Dog Casino – Best Overall Australian Online Casino

  • Established in 2019
  • 150+ casino games
  • Easy-to-use website

Red Dog is a fairly brand new casino site that’s caught our eye so much that we had to give it the top award.

How come?

A few reasons.

As one of the brand new Australian casinos, Red Dog is able to offer better first deposit bonuses than most of the established casinos. This is because it’s a new casino site that has to do whatever it can to entice new players away from existing sites.

And hey, we’re not complaining.

Other than that, Red Dog has a compendium of brand new games mixed in with classic games, and there are indeed almost 200 high-quality games in its repertoire at the time of writing.

Red Dog Casino is also remarkably easy to use. It’s not the most eye-catching in terms of aesthetics, but we feel that Aussie players will appreciate its fuss-free user layout, and the fact that everything is easy to find. Site speed is good, too.

The site is fully optimised for mobile play, too, and works excellently on all devices.

In terms of its actual game selection, at Red Dog Casino you can play slots, poker, blackjack, roulette and more.

Naturally, some users might be put off by the fact that this is such a new casino site. But we can vouch for its license, and it’s safe and secure for Australian players to use.

2. QueensPlay – Best Australian Online Casino for Female Players

  • 800+ online casino games
  • Aimed at women players
  • Launched in 2020

Maybe its name is a dead giveaway, but QueensPlay describes itself as an online casino site where “ladies rule.”

To that end, the colour scheme is a mix of pink and white, and women are plastered all over the site.

Are men welcome?

Of course! But there’s no doubt that QueensPlay takes its demographic seriously and has created an online casino where Australian women feel welcome.

This isn’t a gimmicky site, either. There are over 800 casino games available, and these include hundreds of slots, lots of progressive jackpots, and live dealer games. You can play 10p roulette, high stakes Classic Blackjack – whatever you fancy.

You can also play scratch cards, and there are promos galore.

Wagering requirements are a tad high on what is otherwise an attractive welcome bonus, but QueensPlay is a red hot, brand new casino site that works well on any device, and which uses games that are provided by a variety of renowned gaming providers.

3. CasinoNic – Best Online Casino for Customer Support

  • 24/7 helpful customer service
  • Live casino games
  • Generous first deposit bonus

It sometimes happens that, despite our best intentions, things just go wrong at an online casino. Either we don’t get paid on time, our winnings seem to get stuck when processing, or the games just aren’t playing fair.

This is what we like about CasinoNic: Top-notch customer support is prompt, helpful and friendly. It’s a customer-centric online casino, and that in itself can be so hard to find these days when many online gambling sites are just doing whatever it takes to make themselves a quick buck.

Aside from excellent customer support, CasinoNic uses games that are provided by the likes of NetEnt, Microgaming and BetSoft. In other words, it uses games that are provided by the biggest hitters in the online gambling world.

You can take your picks from hundreds of slots, including a selection of megaways slots, as well as all the best traditional casino classics, such as poker, roulette and blackjack.

Naturally, no online casino site is too good to be true, and we’d argue that withdrawal times are a bit longer than average here. On the other hand, there are over 15 different payment methods available to Australian players, including EcoPayz, Neteller and Siru. However, while PaySafeCard is available normally at CasinoNic, it isn’t available to Australian players.

4. JoeFortune – Best Australian Online Casino for Jackpot Pokies

  • 300+ pokies
  • Exclusive to Australian players
  • Bitcoin accepted

No Australian player worth their salt doesn’t love pokies, but if you really love pokies, you might want to check out JoeFortune.

Having burst onto the online gambling scene in 2016, JoeFortune has established itself as one of the leading lights when it comes to online pokies. It currently has over 300 of them in its collection of games, and these include high RTP pokies, progressive jackpots, free pokies, and brand new pokies.

You can also play a range of speciality casino games here, including keno and bingo.

We like the fact that JoeFortune is kind enough to add casino strategies to their website that players can read to help them improve their chances of winning, and there are also several other articles related to pokies that give this casino a bit more of a social feel.

It’s a bit of a shame that live dealer games aren’t available. But, hey, if you’re just here for the pokies (and especially progressive jackpot pokies), JoeFortune – which is exclusive to Australian players – is worth a look.

5. Ignition – Best Australian Online Casino for Poker

  • High-traffic poker room
  • 100+ pokies
  • Generous rake

If you’re an Australian player who loves poker, Ignition leads the way when it comes to traffic, daily tournaments and poker variants.

Indeed, it’s one of the most popular poker sites in the world. There are always at least 100+ players online at any time of the day, and it’s especially ideal if you’re looking for a soft poker site.

This latter point is worth expanding on because Ignition does not track its players over the long-term, and neither does it let sharks eat weaker opponents. Instead, it’s created with the recreational model in mind and it attempts as much as possible to have the look and feel of a live casino.

Rake is currently pegged at $0.01 for every $0.20 that goes in the pot, there is zero rakeback, the MTT schedule is super impressive.

Any drawbacks?

The initial welcome bonus is a tad on the small side, although we’d argue that this is offset by the fair wagering requirements. Moreover, Ignition handsomely rewards players over the long-term with subsequent bonuses and promos.

There’s also a good selection of pokies here, as well as lots of other casino games.

6. PlayAmo – Best Online Gambling Site for Pokies Tournaments

  • 3500+ online casino games
  • Daily tournaments
  • Cryptos accepted

PlayAmo is ideal if you’re looking to play pokies tournaments. Here, you can play slots of the week, drops & wins, and a handful of other daily, weekly and monthly tournaments against other players. Prize pools are high.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to compete in tournaments but just want to play pokies, you can do that here, too. There are more than 3500 casino games in total at PlayAmo, with well over two-thousand of these made up of pokies.

Even better, the games are provided by a range of reputable software providers, including NetEnt and Pragmatic Play. Exciting gameplay and sharp graphics are guaranteed.

On the flip side, PlayAmo is such a new and modern online casino that some players might find it a challenge to get used to its layout. If, however, you’re looking for a fresh casino experience, this might be worth checking out further.

7. WooCasino – Best New Online Pokies Casino

  • 3000+ online pokie games
  • Launched in 2020
  • Clean user interface
  • 10+ banking options
  • Works well on your mobile device

WooCasino is a highly-rated online casino available to Australian players. It’s easy on the eye, it accepts a wide range of payment methods including cryptos, and it’s fully optimized for mobile.

In a nutshell, it’s a very modern pokies site.

Where does it excel?

Well, for starters you can play a whopping 3000+ pokies here, while as a new online casino (it was launched in 2020), you can expect a clean and crisp user interface, while its VIP program is one of the best around when it comes to rewarding you for repeat play.

Some players might have a hard time trusting such a new casino site. But WooCasino is fully licensed, and safe and secure to use.

8. AussiePlay – Best for Online Pokies Bonuses

  • Generous welcome casino bonus
  • Not on Gamstop
  • High RTP pokies

AussiePlay is an Australian online casino made by Australians for Australians. It’s got an attractive pokies welcome bonus to help get you started, there are hundreds of pokies available to play, and you can play games for free or for real money.

Its welcome bonus is actually a welcome package that consists of 3 different deposit bonuses. And once you start to make regular deposits and place regular stakes, AussiePlay further rewards you with frequent promos.

Poker is available, as are a handful of blackjack and roulette variants, and while its overall game selection is a tad smaller than it is at other sites, there are plenty of high RTP slots here which increase your chances of winning. It’s also not on Gamstop.

9. National Casino – Best for Casino Games

  • 4000+ casino games
  • Launched in 2021
  • Poker available
  • Excellent customer service

With an awesome selection of more than 4000 casino games, National Casino might be the site for you if game variety is your top priority. Recently launched in 2021, it’s great for games, pokies bonuses and mobile playability.

What kind of games can you play here?

Pretty much anything you can think of. Pokies, baccarat, poker, roulette, blackjack and more are all available in a variety of variants, and the games are provided by world-class developers.

And although this is a brand new casino site, we can confirm its license and security. Payouts are fast, too.

10. BitStarz – Best Australian Online Casino for Cryptocurrencies

  • Wide range of crypts accepted
  • Level-based promos
  • 2000+ games

If you’re looking to deposit and withdraw using cryptocurrencies, you could do a lot worse than give BitStarz a test-run. That’s exactly what we did, and we found it to be one of the top dogs when it comes to the sheer number of cryptos that it accepts. The likes of Bitcoin, BTC Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum and more are all accepted here.

Of course, there’s more to it than its payment methods. With more than 2,000 casino games on its roster, BitStarz has something for everyone. We also like its user layout, which is fresh, modern and clean, as well as its generous crypto bonuses.

Its promos are worth expanding on, because BitStarz gamifies them by making them level-based. Basically, you need to complete tasks in order to trigger more prizes.

Maybe a small complaint is that the site doesn’t accept Australian dollars. But if that’s your preferred currency, you’ve still got lots of other high-quality options.

11. Cobra Casino – Best for Mobile Play

  • Excellent mobile app
  • Hundreds of games
  • Launched in 2021

Cobra Casino is a brand new online casino available to Aussie players that performs well on a number of fronts. It’s got a great selection of payment methods and games, its welcome bonus is generous, and its user layout is modern and clean.

Bitcoin is accepted, we were impressed by the helpful customer support, and games include 100+ slots, bingo, blackjack, poker, roulette and live games.

As a new casino, Cobra hasn’t yet proved itself. However, it uses games developed by some of the best online gambling studios, it’s compatible on mobile, and we see no reason to doubt that it could easily grow into an established online casino over time.

Best Australian Online Casinos: FAQ

Are Australian Online Casinos Safe?

Australian online casinos are safe as long as you play at a fully-licensed online casino that’s clearly legit, and which uses security measures such as SSL-encryption to keep your details safe.

Are My Funds Safe at Australian Online Casinos?

The answer to this is pretty much the same as above. As long as you’re playing at reputable, fully-licensed online casinos, there’s no reason to think that your funds won’t be safe.

How Do Online Casinos Work?

To get started at online casino sites and play online pokies and other games, you just have to create an account by registering your details.

Once your account is verified, you can link a payment method before depositing funds – and start playing. It really is that simple, and you can play on desktop or on mobile.

What Makes a Good Online Pokies Site?

Naturally, if you’re primarily looking to play online pokies, the biggest thing you need to look for is the selection of online pokies available at any online casino. How many do they have? Do they have a range of high RTP pokies, as well as good variety, including lots of progressive jackpot pokies?

Other things that contribute to a good online gambling experience include overall game variety (do the casino sites also offer poker, blackjack, roulette and baccarat variants?), the user interface (is it clean and easy to use?), as well as mobile compatibility and the payment methods.

How Do I Choose the Best Australian Online Casinos?

The first thing to look for is whether or not a casino site is fully-licensed. Then, you can narrow down the best casinos by reading Australian online casino reviews, before taking a closer look at any online casinos that catch your eye to see what games they offer, their user layout, as well as their welcome bonuses and payment methods.

Most casinos also offer mobile play these days, but the absolute best casinos offer seamless mobile play where the mobile experience is just as good as the desktop version.

Online Casinos in Australia: Final Thoughts

Best Games to Come In 2022

Published

on

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There is a common quip in the gaming and game development world that new games’ release dates are more of suggestions than a sure thing. This is because no game ever makes its initial release date. But gamers have come to terms with delays and understand that it’s part of the game development process. However, this does not keep us from getting excited about the new titles slated to be released later this year.

This piece will look at the best games you should expect before the year ends. So if you’re ready to possibly get your hopes up for no reason, keep reading to learn more.

1. God of War

God of war is a quirky game set in a world inspired by the Norse mythology and was initially released in 2005. The game has gone through a few iterations over the years, which has only improved its gameplay. The current title does an excellent job at developing its characters and establishing their backstories, pulling you into the game and engaging you even more.

In addition, the musical score does an even better job at accentuating important moments in the game. That’s why we are so excited about the new revamp slated for later on this year. We are sure the stories and music will only get better, and we don’t even need to mention the gameplay. Sony always kills it.

2. Call of Duty

When duty calls, you have to answer. This is one that never disappoints. Its action sequences are as engaging as ever, and the graphics are every graphics designer’s envy. Betway also found that playing COD helps you burn as much calories as a long walk, with a 90 minute gaming session elevating your heart rate to 90+ beats per minute and helping you burn up to 180 calories.

So you can now enjoy your gaming sessions and don’t have to worry about missing the gym. And with a new release this year, we have more than one thing to be excited about.

3. Last of Us

Another title that is excellent to play is Last of Us. It’s set in a decaying post-apocalyptic world and stars two characters—a child accompanied by an adult. However, the story is not about the dilapidated world but about these two characters and their struggle to survive this world.

This is one we hope the development gods here us and release as expected. We cross our fingers and hope it makes its release date this year.

4. A Plague’s Tale

Set in a corps-ridden world, plague-infested rats and inquisition soldiers who have it out for the two orphaned sibling protagonists. The game’s setting does an excellent job of making the main characters empathetic as you witness their struggle from a third-person perspective.

However, the gameplay is not that engaging, and the obstacles are neither challenging nor compelling. We are glad the makers are revamping this one and getting a second chance at taking another crack later this year.

5. FIFA 23

FIFA is a classic game that never disappoints. It has been a favorite for many, and FIFA 23 is expected to be the most popular iteration of the francise yet.

QTech Games bolsters its offering with CQ9 Gaming integration

Emerging-markets leader extends its premier portfolio with more top slots from an emerging Asian force in multiplayer video content

QTech Games, the number-one games distributor across all emerging markets, has announced its latest premium partnership with Asian video content and slots supplier, CQ9 Gaming.

Under the terms of the new agreement, CQ9 Gaming’s GLI-certified portfolio – comprising top-quality slots, arcade, and table casino games – has been integrated for QTech Games clients and their players, providing another cutting edge to a powerhouse platform recognised for bringing the finest online games to market across developing territories.

Popular CQ9 titles include Good Fortune, 1945, Kronos, Zeus, Lucky Fishing, and many others which harness the appeal of multiplayer fish games, arcade games, not to mention multiplayer online board and card games. This ever-evolving production line will help QTech Games strengthen its comprehensive spread of gaming verticals, central to QTech ONE™, its definitive one-stop shop for global operators.

The deal organically broadens CQ9 Gaming’s global footprint, accessing a fresh scope of growth markets for accelerated expansion. As the fastest-growing distributor over the past few years, QTech’s platform is localised for each region with native mobile apps, robust reporting and marketing tools, and 24/7 local-language support.

Ulf Norder, CCO at QTech Games, said: “We’re excited to be teaming up with CQ9 Gaming whose stunning graphics and gameplay chart near the pinnacle of the marketplace. The QTech Games platform is equipped with the best games from the world’s leading suppliers – and CQ9 now joins this branching tree.

“CQ9 Gaming may only be a young company, but they’ve already managed to build a strong fan-base in Asia and are moving on to conquer previously untapped markets in Europe and LatAm. Their titles run off an agile HTML5 gaming engine, meaning that you can access them either via desktop or mobile devices, even if the casino doesn’t currently offer a dedicated mobile app.

“Wherever you set your scene in this ever-changing landscape, our platform champions a mobile-first mantra, packed with all the best localised games that cater to varied cultural tastes. By way of instructive example, if you don’t offer the fish game in China, there’s no chance of becoming successful. And it’s a similar story with the Andar Bahar in India. CQ9 understand the demand for regional specificity throughout Asia and beyond, making them a logical and long-term ally with which to team up.”

A CQ9 spokesperson added: “This deal significantly broadens CQ9 Gaming’s international influence, opening up ‘margin’ markets from Eastern Europe and Latin America for diversified growth.

“CQ9 is one of the leading video slot suppliers in the Asian market with more than 100 titles under our belt. We’re steadily working on extending that reach and establishing ourselves in Europe and CIS-facing territories, and QTech’s broad spread of emerging-markets access means we can achieve this with dexterity while also consolidating our existing Asia-facing audience.

“Our goal has always been to design intuitive and interactive live-dealer experiences that are customised for every generation of mobile end-user. Since QTech Games is a defining distributor across Asia and other unexploited regions, we can’t wait to see how our games connect with different and diverse player profiles.

“At a time of refined localization techniques, QTech Games is really delivering on their brand promise of customising high-class content for varied cultures. This is what keeps them at the forefront of relevance for all kinds of players in the bubbling melting-pot of emerging markets.”
