Strength of Latin American Market to Be Praised at SBC Awards Latinoamérica Ceremony
In 2021, the inaugural SBC Summit Latinoamérica found its way to Miami, hosting over 500 professionals from the industry and a conference that brought in representatives from Facebook and FIFA among gambling figureheads.
The Summit was forged to recognise the growing importance of the South and Central American markets to iGaming, and now, the 2022 edition has a lot to celebrate. Taking place from 1 to 3 November in Florida, this year’s Summit will welcome even more professionals from across the realms of gambling – from lotteries to iGaming.
New tech will be introduced, networking will be the aim of the game, and the whole event will be punctuated by the SBC Awards Latinoamérica ceremony. Here, the massive industry event will put the spotlight on brands that have successfully cracked the emerging markets.
A sign of success in the emerging market
The iGaming industry hasn’t been in Central and South American nations for too long, with disruptions throughout 2020 and 2021 only hindering efforts to reach more markets. Regulation has picked up speed across the region, particularly in South America, which has greatly helped the rapid growth of the market, as has the willingness for top brands to deliver their usual world-class products upon arrival.
The scene has filled out very well in such a short spell, especially if you consider that trailblazing Colombia only defined online gambling for regulation in 2016, and that Peru – long known to be working on iGaming regulation – only introduced its new bill in July of this year. Regardless, the iGaming sector has certainly fledged across Latin America, with the range of viable awards that the SBC has shortlisted showcasing as such.
Perhaps this is most evident in the range of affiliate and media awards and the stacks of nominees. Brazil is one of the more vibrant markets in the region, loaded with big-name iGaming providers. So, there has been space for an affiliate company to break ground, which KaFe Rocks, the parent company of apostasesportivas24.com, has certainly done. Now, they’re one of four competing brands for the SBC award.
Not only does the existence of a viable Casino Affiliate of the Year award show that businesses are competing across the region in this space, but it also demonstrates the strength of the market. Those in the likes of Brazil are well populated enough with competitive casino platforms that affiliate platforms are sought out by the general public.
A night of celebration to top off another progressive Summit
The SBC Awards are coveted in the iGaming industry and this may only be the second Latinoamérica ceremony for SBC, but the way that brands have focussed on the market has put a lot of weight on these awards.
Further bolstering the occasion is the SBC Summit taking place prior. The event runners have certainly picked a grand venue for the meet, with hundreds in the industry descending on the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. Businesses have already experienced superb growth across Latin America, and with the help of others met at the Summit, they may be able to grow further.
This is the hope of Cristian Robalino, vice president of marketing in the Americas for SBC. As quoted by sbcamericas.com, he says that the event will be “a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights from local market experts” and to “connect with the key players.” Still, for those already well positioned in Latin America, all eyes will be on the awards ceremony on the last day of the Summit.
There are 26 awards on offer at the SBC Latinoamérica ceremony, such as operator, affiliate and marketing, operator and supplier, supplier, and payments and compliance awards. While those awarded for outstanding work in their respective fields get a lot of attention, the winner of the Rising Star of the Year and Socially Responsible Operator of the Year has increased importance in this relatively nascent market.
From 3 November, the SBC Awards Latinoamérica ceremony will be the central focus of the region’s iGaming industry. It’s not long now until we find out the winners of the lauded occasion.
