LiveScore Appoints Fara Williams as Brand Ambassador

LiveScore, the global sports media business and one of the world’s leading real-time sports updates and streaming service providers, has appointed England Women’s record cap holder Fara Williams as brand ambassador ahead of the Women’s World Cup.

Inspired by data from LiveScore’s audience which showcased that women’s football fans are hungry for more of the finer details around the game, the partnership will see five weekly columns from Fara, a wealth of content breaking down some of the best player’s attributes and further insight into some of the stats around the women’s game that new fans into the sport may be unaware of.

LiveScore’s audience insights revealed 57% of fans think the level of analysis and detail around the women’s game is not yet comparable to the men’s. Further to this, 30% would like to see more information on future stars, and one in every four fans would like more detail on the best players, further insight on the development of teams and players, and player analysis akin to that in men’s football.

28% of LiveScore users believe they would be more interested in following the Women’s World Cup if the level of analysis and understanding was greater, whilst 29% believe they would be more interested if they were more aware of who the Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo equivalents were in the women’s game.

Furthermore, showcasing the growth in interest around women’s football, LiveScore’s research found that 59% of its audience plan to follow the tournament this year, which has increased by more than half from the 2019 World Cup. This growth led to LiveScore forming a dedicated women’s football section last season on its app, which has gone from strength to strength, and is seeing strong open rates and views. This further sees regular current and former player interviews, WSL stories and details around key games – in addition to the real-time scores data also provided via the app.

Fara’s unparalleled knowledge places her in the perfect position to uncover the lesser-known stories set to unfold in Australia & New Zealand, and for some intricate bets for betting fans. For her first activity as part of the partnership, the former England midfielder has predicted a host of niche statistics and results to play out over the course of the competition, including the most likely players to receive a yellow card, the tournament dark horses, best passers and most skilful player, which LiveScore users can find on the app and website.

Supplier to provide creative line-up of slots to the world’s leading operators

Creator and provider of iGaming solutions iGP was founded in 2016 and currently hosts more than 100 game providers. Its iGaming Deck provides a catalogue of more than 5,000 titles and a single API integration.

This strategic deal bolsters Playson’s top-tier position in key markets worldwide and broadens the reach of its growing portfolio, as it continues to unveil a packed roadmap for the year ahead.

GGPoker Launches Exclusive WSOP Circuit UK Satellites Press Release

PAGCOR SEEKS GCG APPROVAL TO IMPLEMENT SALARY STEP INCREMENT

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation said it has asked the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) for approval of salary step increments based on employees’ length of service to correct distortions caused by its new Compensation and Position Classification System (CPCS).

In a letter to GCG Chairperson Atty. Marius Corpus dated February 22, 2024, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said the PAGCOR Board of Directors has approved the implementation of step increments but it needs GCG approval.

“Parallel to the thrust of the PAGCOR Board of Directors to prioritize the welfare of the employees, the PAGCOR Board approved the Implementation of Step Increment based on Length of Service, subject to GCG’s review and approval,” he said in the letter.

The PAGCOR chief said the step increment is only the first of many appeals that the agency plans to lodge with the GCG so that PAGCOR employees may enjoy competitive salaries and benefits comparable to other revenue-generating GOCCs.

PAGCOR received its Authority to Implement the CPCS on January 31 this year. However, majority of the employees were dismayed to see that their take-home pay decreased when they received their salaries on the first payday under CPCS on February 15, 2024.

The CPCS also caused distortions in pay scale since all employees were reverted to Pay Step 1 regardless of their years of service. This means that a new employee in a certain position gets the same salary as someone who has been in the same position for 15 years or more.

Chairman Tengco said the Step Increment appeal is only the first of many which the agency plans to lodge with the GCG to remedy the overall decrease in employees’ take home pay, especially for those who occupy the lowest rungs in the organization.

“We hope that the GCG will positively respond to our appeal so that all tenured PAGCOR employees will not feel shortchanged, and instead receive the compensation that they deserve under the bounds of the law,” he added.

A provision under the CPCS implementing guidelines states that “one step increment shall be granted to qualified personnel for every three years of continuous satisfactory service in the present position.”

Records show that as of December 31, 2023, a total of 7,057 PAGCOR personnel or 72.60% of the agency’s workforce have been in service for more than three years in their respective positions.
