EveryMatrix decides to leave UK white label market
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Following the UKGC suspension of the EveryMatrix’s B2C license in the UK, the decision has been taken at company level to let go of its B2C operating licenses for Remote Betting and Casino. The UK B2B software provision license for Remote Gambling Software remains active, and the company continues to offer gambling software to the UK licensed operators.

EveryMatrix has been operating white label businesses since 2014. After many years of successful and unproblematic B2C operations in the UK, the company is forced to consider the UK white label business of EveryMatrix to be irreparably damaged, despite its best efforts to swiftly prove the ability to operate in a safe, responsible, and compliant manner.

Ebbe Groes, CEO of EveryMatrix stated “We fully respect UKGC’s decision of suspending our license and we acknowledge their wish for a substantially changed way of operating white label businesses in the future.
“We regret the impact this suspension has had on our loyal players, on our brands, and on our long-standing white label partners in UK, but this business has by now become unsalvageable.
“We will use this highly unfortunate event as positive as we can and we are keen on maintaining EveryMatrix’s leading role as a provider in the B2B space, in the UK and globally. This is where our company has enjoyed tremendous growth in the past several years and we will now focus even harder on this.”

EveryMatrix is entirely committed and intends to focus on maximizing business growth, as well as to continue to be a trusted and proven software supplier operating globally in regulated jurisdictions.

EveryMatrix is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Stian Hornsletten in the role of Group Chief Commercial Officer. Previously CEO of the company’s casino unit, Hornsletten has taken over his role as CCO to drive the company’s commercial strategy forward, bring new large operators on board, and oversee the sales, marketing and account management teams.

Besides establishing and leading the CasinoEngine business unit, Stian Hornsletten is also the co-founder of EveryMatrix, being a prominent figure within the company for the last 12 years. Hornsletten has over 19 years of experience in the online gaming industry, being an early entrant into betting exchanges and online poker and successfully leading many ventures to market.

Hornsletten’s extensive business knowledge and experience were crucial in propelling EveryMatrix’s casino product forward, managing to sign and launch over 30 new casino clients in the past two years, including highly successful operators like Tipico or the Norwegian state-owned Norsk Tipping. Under his lead, CasinoEngine reached at the beginning of 2019 over 230% YoY GGR growth and is processing now over one billion game rounds per month.

Ebbe Groes, EveryMatrix Group Chief Executive Officer, comments on the recent appointment: “I’ve known Stian for a long time now and I am thrilled that he accepted to take over EveryMatrix’s commercial growth across all business units, from sports betting, payments to affiliate and, of course, casino. Stian is both my business partner and trusted friend and having him in this commercial role is a great win for EveryMatrix.

“Thanks to Stian’s technical skills, passion for this business and comprehensive expertise, I believe we can reach the commercial objectives we have set and prove once more that EveryMatrix is a leading B2B company within the iGaming industry.”

Stian Hornsletten, EveryMatrix Chief Commercial Officer, says: “This is a very exciting time to be joining the commercial teams, and I look forward to working together with my colleagues to ensure that the company’s commercial strategy, products and service level are robust in today’s business environment.

“Our goal is to continue to increase market opportunities for partners and clients by focusing on providing our specialised technology and modular solutions alongside excellent service.”

EveryMatrix is thrilled to announce the launch of Spearhead Studios, which is set to extend the company’s commercial activity into the gaming development vertical. The new game studio is formed from an existing, experienced, and talented team and was recently acquired from Gaming Innovation Group.

Based in Marbella, Spain, Spearhead Studios is led by iGaming veteran Mathias Larsson, former Managing Director at GiG Games. Larsson has over 11 years of management experience within the iGaming industry, gained from founding XIN Gaming and working for established names such as Ezugi and HoGaming.

The studio’s in-house capabilities consist of game concept design, JavaScript game development, digital artist production, animation, UI/X design, audio production, gameplay testing/QA, certification and localisation.

Commenting on the launch of Spearhead Studios, Ebbe Groes, Group Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder, said: “EveryMatrix is an established B2B brand and entering the game development sector was something which we wanted to do for some time now. Having a creative gaming studio led by a brilliant executive such as Mathias Larsson sets EveryMatrix apart in this competitive industry and we are confident that this combo is going to serve our clients and partners very well.

“The background for this acquisition is the tremendous success of our CasinoEngine product, which has strong synergies to Spearhead. However, we will keep the studio activity highly independent, winning market share on its own merits while staying true to our principles of full transparency and maximum coverage in CasinoEngine!”

Mathias Larsson, Managing Director of Spearhead Studios, commented: “I’m very excited to play a part in the launch of Spearhead Studios and continue the work we’ve already started. We have a very talented and highly skilled team which will prove successful in the years to come. Being part of such a thriving company as EveryMatrix will strengthen our offering to the market and will help Spearhead reach a bigger audience.”

Spearhead Studios’ team previously created Book of Souls which enjoyed over twenty million game rounds in the first ten months post-launch. Plans for the next period include finishing multiple video slots projects and releasing table games such as Blackjack and Roulette.
