H2 Adds IBIA Betting Integrity Alert Data To Its Global Betting Summary Dataset
As part of our exclusive data partnership with the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), H2 is extending its Global Betting Summary Dataset market data coverage to now include the number of suspicious betting alerts reported by IBIA, which is the leading global authority in its field.
The new dataset tracks back historically to 2017 when 266 alerts were logged, to the 183 reported last year. Breakdown coverage is updated quarterly and provided by continent, country and sport. Tennis and football are currently the most targeted sports by match-fixers making up around 80% of all IBIA cases, albeit there have been alerts reported on 15 sports in total during 2017-19.
The IBIA Monitoring & Alert Platform gathers detailed intelligence on suspicious betting patterns identified across IBIA members’ sports betting markets globally. The association’s members include many of the largest operators in the world, with around 50 retail and online sports betting brands feeding data into the association’s unique customer-based alert platform 24/7.
All suspicious activity is reported to sport governing bodies and regulators by IBIA and by the member(s) whose market is concerned. The alert system has resulted in numerous convictions across a range of sports and enhanced the integrity of sporting events worldwide, whilst protecting IBIA members’ businesses and saving substantial amounts of otherwise fraudulently lost income.
IBIA CEO Khalid Ali said “The association is delighted to extend its ongoing collaboration with H2 and to be able to add its suspicious betting alert data to H2’s leading market analysis and intelligence. As membership of the association continues to grow, so does its global market coverage, with IBIA data representing the most accurate picture of the impact of corruption on regulated betting markets. I hope that all H2 subscribers engaged in sports and/or the betting arena will find this data of interest.”
David Henwood, Director at H2, added: “We are committed to providing the best independent data and market commentary there is within the sector. We also want to highlight best practice where we see it particularly when it comes to developing a safe betting environment in both sport and gambling regulation. IBIA is world leading its work and a quality data provider in its own right so showcasing these numbers to our H2 Subscribers is a natural extension of our partnership going forward.”
