Better Collective Acquires AceOdds
In a strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the UK, digital sports media group Better Collective has acquired sports betting media AceOdds for a total consideration of 42 mEUR implying 4x last twelve months EBITDA.
AceOdds, a versatile multi-language sports betting brand, offers a comprehensive range of betting tools, odds, reviews and streaming schedules through its web and app based platforms. With a robust presence in the UK market, Better Collective’s global reach through local expertise aligns perfectly with AceOdds’s vision of expanding its influence outside the borders of the UK. Following the acquisition, Better Collective upgrades its 2024 full year financial targets.

Established in 2008, AceOdds was founded with the aim of providing UK sports enthusiasts with an easy-to-use betting calculator. Over the years, the brand has expanded, offering a well-regarded web platform featuring a range of betting tools, comparison features, live streaming schedules, an odds and parlay calculator, and more. Additionally, AceOdds has introduced a popular app.
The acquisition aligns with Better Collective’s strategy of owning the full range of sports media across key regions, spanning from traditional sportsbook comparison brands to general sports media, social media content creators, podcast producers and beyond.

Catena Media appoints Martin Zetterlund to board of directors
Catena Media’s board of directors has appointed Martin Zetterlund as non-executive director to fill the seat vacated by Øystein Engebretsen.
Martin Zetterlund is an experienced Stockholm-based entrepreneur, investor and executive with specialist expertise in cybersecurity and managed security services. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he co-founded Sentor Managed Security Services in 1998, serving in various leadership roles, including Head of Managed Security Services, until the company’s acquisition by Accenture in 2021. He also held the role of SVP Advanced Projects at Distil Networks.
He commented: “I am looking forward to joining Catena Media’s board and am eager to contribute to the growth of the business by applying my experience in technology and strategic business development.”
Erik Flinck, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: “Martin brings valuable expertise in cybersecurity and technology, areas that are becoming increasingly critical for Catena Media’s operations. The appointment will become effective once all necessary filings are made with the Malta Business Registry, and his term will run until the end of the next annual general meeting, in accordance with the Maltese Companies Act and Catena Media’s articles of association.

ReferOn, the state-of-the-art affiliate management system has gathered and analysed its operational data for 2024. The past fiscal year showed impressive and promising signs of sustainable growth for the brand as it recorded record increases in all major statistical categories.

Operators and affiliates saw increased functionality in the platform’s features: affiliate registration page modifications, postback enhancements, added data and reporting functionality, and further improvements to data campaign action.
The ReferOn Insights seminars allowed operators to join David Harris, B2B Affiliate Team Manager, to explore ReferOn’s capabilities and help boost campaign metrics. This educational content set the foundation for the team to develop further assistive materials to empower ReferOn users to activate their affiliate marketing.

In 2025 Q1, ReferOn will focus on client communications and making further product-facing additions. A few technical updates the team has planned include tweaks to the notification areas and payment processes and greater functionality in reporting metrics. 2025 will see more strategic partnerships with external vendors, where the team will conduct more migrations to assist with onboarding.
