Miniclip Opens New Studio in Lisbon

Miniclip, a world leader of market-defining mobile games titles, has announced the expansion of its global operations with the opening of a brand new studio in the Taguspark technology park in Lisbon, Portugal.
Following the start of its operations in 2010, which marked the company’s first step in its shift from web to mobile games, the opening marks Miniclip’s further expansion in Portugal. With a focus on hiring highly skilled talent over the last 11 years, Miniclip has doubled its number of employees in Portugal over the last three years, with the new studio allowing for an even greater expansion.
Miniclip’s new studio in Taguspark will be one of the first buildings in Portugal to achieve the WELL and LEED certifications, providing Miniclippers with a top-class collaborative space. The studio will be run on 100% electricity from sustainable sources and inclusive filtered water points available every 30 metres from each desk. Moreover, the studio will include a gym, wellness studio, massage room and soon, there will be an urban vegetable garden.
“In our continued global expansion, we’re delighted to announce the opening of our brand new studio space in Taguspark, Portugal. Miniclip has made significant investment in the games industry in Portugal since setting up its local operations in 2010 with almost doubling our workforce and these new studios demonstrate our continued growth and commitment to maintaining this investment in the region. We can’t wait to invite all of our Portugal-based Miniclippers to their amazing new home,” Marius Manolache, COO at Miniclip, said.
“The opening of Miniclip’s new Portuguese studio in Taguspark will offer the company a world-leading studio space. The studio design is extremely contemporary and conveys an image of innovation and technology. This is another demonstration of Taguspark – Knowledge City’s position of excellence for hosting the most demanding global technology companies,” Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO at Taguspark, said.
