ORYX Gaming hails successful Leaderboards and Tournaments results
Reading Time: 2 minutes

ORYX Gaming, a Bragg Gaming Group company, has hailed the successful launch of its Leaderboards and Tournament tool after operators experience a huge spike in overall gaming activity, player engagement, conversion and retention rates.

The ORYX Realtime Tournaments and in-game Leaderboards tool was introduced in May, enabling operators to set up slot tournaments, across multiple game providers, with a real-time data feed which allows players to track and compare their results with others.

Over a 10-day span, two different types of marketing campaigns were set up using the tool, giving away cash prizes and free round incentives. Operators immediately saw significant increases in bet size and player session length.

The total bets amount increased 47% while the number of game rounds grew 51% and the number of players by 44%. When including free rounds incentives to the campaign, the totals bets amount increased 184%, the number of game rounds by 207% and the number of players by 258%. The initial results were reported by two operators with the total number of players participating 10,192.

The ORYX Realtime Tournaments and Leaderboards tool is unique in many ways, starting from a real-time data feed, to its easy set-up, without the need for any integration and it effectively enables operators to create exclusive competitive environments where players not only want to win the game that they are playing but also against others.

This adds another layer of excitement and offers a great incentive for players to battle to win or return to a game where a tournament is running and adds another layer of excitement and offers a great conversion and retention tool for the operators.

Matevz Mazij, Managing Director of ORYX Gaming, said: “We’re thrilled to already see the results of our Realtime Tournaments and Leaderboards tool and how it can be easily used by our partners as a powerful marketing incentive that helps keep players excited, entertained and engaged while they are playing the games they love the most.”

GVC Appoints Dr. Mark Griffiths as Special Adviser on Player Protection and Safer Gambling Issues

GVC Holdings has appointed online gambling addiction specialist Dr. Mark Griffiths as a special adviser on player protection and safer gambling issues.

Dr. Mark Griffiths, Distinguished Professor of Behavioural Addiction and Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, will audit GVC’s policies and processes on responsible gaming and suggest improvements. He was a part of the World Health Organisation working party that formally recognised “gaming disorder” as a psychological condition last year.

Last week, GVC’s CEO Shay Segev set out his direction for the Group, focusing on two strategic pillars of sustainability and growth, underpinned by the Group’s industry-leading proprietary technology. This included a commitment, under the new Sustainability Charter, to continue to lead the industry on responsible gambling.

A core part of this is the launch of the Advanced Responsibility & Care (ARC) programme. The ARC programme encompasses scientific analysis of player behaviour to inform the enhancement of player protections. GVC’s data scientists then derive predictive models and analytics to score players for potential indicators of protection. Each player has a dynamic risk rating aligned to their play patterns and other criteria to enable real-time monitoring and analysis tools to enable early interventions to improve player protection.

Professor Griffiths’ work will be instrumental in delivering ARC. He will work with the business to apply findings from the behaviours of over 160 million players on GVC’s global database to help develop stronger rules, measures and interventions. He will also draw on GVC’s existing multi-million-dollar partnership with Harvard Medical School, now two years into a five-year study into addiction.
