Green Jade launches Casino Blocks

Arcade-skill game pioneers release follow up to hit Jade Puzzle that allow players to bet on every single move they make during the game

Green Jade Games, the progressive and innovative casino game developer, has launched the latest title in its skill-based arcade game series, Casino Blocks.

Casino Blocks is based on Green Jade’s flagship skill-based arcade game, Jade Puzzle, it is not, however, an upgrade on the original but rather a paradigm shift.

Casino Blocks will perform much more like a slot with the bet per move cadence Green Jade first introduced with its Candy Prize BIG (Bet In Game) title.

When playing Casino Blocks, players are given a random series of shapes which they must fit into an 8×8 grid. Every shape they place is a bet with the opportunity for large wins in the base game.

The prize the player receives is determined by a random number generator. If there is a prize, a prize message is displayed and the prize is then credited to their balance.

There is also a mini slot bonus round that appears from time to time giving players the chance to ramp up their winnings through various multipliers.

Players earn points when they form a continuous line of eight cells, either vertical or horizontal, which then disappear from the board to free up more space.

Players are also given two “Power Ups” to help complete the game including a Rotation Power Up and an Exchange shape Power Up.

Each game starts with both power meters at full, with additional Power Ups rewarded when players earn 600 skill points and 750 skill points respectively.

Skill points are rewarded for how well the player performs during the game and for placing a shape, clearing lines, beating previous scores, rotating shapes, exchanging shapes and emptying the grid.

Once the player is unable to place any more shapes down on the grid, the game ends.

Mark Taffler at Green Jade Games, said: “We founded the business in order to change the industry.  We stand by that mission statement and we’re extremely proud of Casino Blocks.

Jade Puzzle was and still is a huge success, however, as with every new concept we must adapt to the market forces.

We saw with Candy Prize and Candy Prize BIG that different markets react differently to these skill games.

Bet In Game is a feature we will now roll out on our skill games as it helps the game to engender itself to the existing player base, whilst attracting a new audience with its UX.”

Stakelogic debuts Gods of Secrecy™
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Stakelogic, the developer of the most thrilling and entertaining slots in the industry, is taking players on an ancient Egyptian adventure in its latest release, Gods of Secrecy™.

Players are sent on a quest to find the Pyramids of Secrets where treasures, riches and big wins await. They are helped on their way by several generous features.

This includes a Free Spins bonus round that also includes Expanding Symbols. The feature is triggered when three or more Wild Scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels, awarding 10 Free Spins.

Once the bonus is active, one of the symbols on the reels will be randomly chosen to Expand and will cover the entire reel (or reels) so long as a winning combination can be created with that symbol.

Players are given the chance to Gamble the Expanding Symbol once before the Free Spins bonus begins. The new symbol could be of higher value, but it could also be lower.

If three or more Scatter symbols land while the Free Spins bonus is active, Extra Free Spins are awarded as well as a win multiplier of up to x200.

While big wins can be achieved with Free Spins, players must discover the Pyramids of Secrets if they are to take home the biggest richest.

The feature is triggered when six or more Pyramid symbols land on the reels. The symbols stay on the reels while other symbols transform into separate reels.

The bonus then starts with three Re-spins. If additional Pyramid symbols land, the Re-spin counter resets to three. Each Pyramid symbols has its own cash prize.

There is also a Pyramid of Secrets Jackpot with three prize tiers – Mini, Major and Mega.

All three Jackpots can be won and if all 15 reels spaces are filled with Pyramid symbols, the Jackpot is won twice.

If that wasn’t enough to summon the Gods of Secrecy™, the game is also hooked up to Stakelogic’s innovative Super Stake™ feature allowing players to effectively double their bet with every wager.

If activated, Super Stake™ is tiggered at random on a losing spin and will award 10 Free Spins.

Gods of Secrecy™ also allows players to Gamble their winnings. They can bet on the card colour or card suit – the former potentially multiplying their win x2 and the latter x4.

Stephan van den Oetelaar, CEO of Stakelogic, said: “The entire team has done an incredible job with Gods of Secrecy™, a visually striking and heavily animated slot that has an unrivalled production value compared to almost any other game on the market.

“This is combined with thrilling and entertaining gameplay, including the chance for players to win big through the Free Spins bonus, the three jackpots and of course our unique and innovative Super Stake™ feature. This makes Gods of Secrecy™ one of our best games yet.”

Women in Esports launches women-only tournaments with FACEIT and separate community Discord
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The British Esports Association, the not-for-profit organisation set up to promote and support grassroots esports, has partnered with FACEIT, the world’s leading platform for competitive online gaming, as part of its ongoing Women in Esports initiative.

Women in Esports will have its own organiser page on FACEIT and will create women-only tournaments and hubs. The Women in Esports initiative aims to create a welcoming community which encourages more women (including trans and cis women) and femme identifying/femme presenting non-binary players to take part in esports tournaments at any level.

Women-only tournaments are viewed by Women in Esports as a stepping stone to give women more confidence and experience to then aim for further involvement in other tournaments (mixed or otherwise) in the future.

The organiser page will initially focus on Counter Strike:Global Offensive (CS:GO) as the first title for tournaments and hubs, primarily due to the fantastic female community prevalent on FACEIT for this title. The variety of tournaments and hubs will later expand with future pilots for other titles.

The first 5v5 CS:GO tournament, The Lioness League, will open for registrations on Friday November 27th and occur on Saturday December 12th. There will be a max of 32 teams in a single elimination bracket. Participants will be able to join as a premade team or join as a solo player and form a team. The prize will be 3000 FACEIT points: 2000 points for the winning team, and 1000 points for second place. This will be the start of regular monthly tournaments.

Our CS:GO hub will enable players to create teams and scrim against each other. The hubs will be private by application, open to women (including trans and cis women) and femme identifying/femme presenting non-binary players to join.

Women in Esports has also created its own separate community Discord server to further its aim of providing an inclusive community space. The server will be public and open to everyone, with many social channels, announcements, an industry section, along with specific tournament chat. It will be vetted, moderated and constantly updated as per feedback and changes in line with the initiative.

“We’re delighted to partner with Women in Esports, a team that shares our passions and values. FACEIT is committed to developing grassroots opportunities and supporting the community. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident when taking their first steps into esports and we’re hoping this hub will offer a safe space for women to come together and compete,” said Sue Lavasani, Account Manager at FACEIT.

Alice Leaman, Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer at British Esports, said: “Through Women in Esports we aim to build a community and encourage more women to get involved in the industry. By partnering with FACEIT we can start to develop more regular tournaments and opportunities for all skill levels and the creation of a community Discord will provide a dedicated space for diversity in esports to be celebrated.”
