Betcris Takes Its Leading Sports Betting Brand to Poland
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Since it was established in Latin America, Betcris has been known as the main sports wagering operator throughout the region. It has been fundamental for shaping the region’s sports betting industry and has played an integral role in seeing the market grow. Betcris has become a leader in Latin America for its transparent and fair-play sports betting solutions and is now looking for international expansion. The essential sports betting option for enthusiasts across Latin America, Betcris has now started its foray into the European market. Betcris has become the latest licensed operator to offer its services in Poland.

Poland has fostered a solid sports wagering market over the recent years. Last year, it saw a handle of roughly $1.85 billion, with private operators contributing $205.6 million to the country through tax revenue. The past two years have brought double-digit growth in the online gaming industry in the country, with extensive gains seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Betcris CEO JD Duarte asserts, “It is a great day for Betcris. Starting operations in Poland was a great choice, the local work team has made sure that the Betcris brand maintains its level of excellence and we are excited about all the possibilities that this opens for us as a company. Betcris has earned its leadership position in Latin America and now that we come to Poland, we will continue to make history. I love entering new markets and zeroing in on what makes customers happy. We have a great team that I’m sure will accomplish great things. Polsko, wchodzimy do gry!”

The launch in Poland is only one piece of the organization’s extensive global brand methodology to build its European presence, and the experience acquired in the Polish market will permit Betcris to understand European wagering patterns and the profile of the local bettor. Last year, Betcris started to research how to become part of Poland’s legal sports betting scene, dissecting the particulars of the market prior to choosing to offer an online sportsbook. It realized that, because of the COVID-19 situation, local retail organizations were scaling back or shutting down their operations, which served as an impetus for an online-only alternative from the sportsbook.

Clarifies Board Member of Betcris company in Poland, Jacek Jakubowski, “Poland is one of the most dynamically developing markets in Europe with operators offering services at a high level. It is a very competitive market, but we strongly believe that our brand, based on our attractive product and the many years of experience we have in other countries combined with excellent customer service, will meet the expectations of Polish clients and let us build a strong position in this market.”

Poland updated its gaming laws through the Gambling Act of 2017. This adjusted the overall influence in the market by presenting clarified and more succinct controls of the country’s sports betting industry section. While there have been some minor changes made to the regulations since then, these have not had a major impact on the overall industry of certain wagering brands. With a solid and stable environment now in place, Betcris can venture into Poland and deliver its world-class sports betting options to the new markets.

ORYX exclusive content goes live on StarVegas in significant Swiss boost

ORYX Gaming, a Bragg Gaming Group company, has secured an agreement to supply its range of exclusive slots to Swiss operator Casino Interlaken, marking the iGaming supplier’s expansion in the market.

The deal provides players at Casino Interlaken’s online brand, StarVegas.ch, with access to ORYX’s proprietary slots library as well as its selection of exclusive RGS content from providers including GAMOMAT, Golden Hero, Kalamba Games, Giveme Games and Peter & Sons.

The deal has been made possible by ORYX’s ISO/IEC 27001 certificate which underpins the supplier’s commitment to information security and is a prerequisite of entering the regulated Swiss online market which opened in January 2019.

In the latest figure released by the Swiss gambling regulator, the seven casinos that offered online games in the country in 2020 achieved gross gaming revenue of approximately US $203 million (CHF186.8 million). This compared to US $26 million (CHF23.5 million) generated in 2019 when only four casinos were operating online.

The partnership with Interlaken marks ORYX’s third in the country following deals with leading operators Grand Casino Luzern and Grand Casino Baden.

The Interlaken deal is the latest in ORYX’s continued growth across European regulated markets and comes on the back of recent entries into Greece, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom markets. The supplier is now licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), the Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN), and the Greek Hellenic Commission (HGC) and its content is certified or approved in multiple other key jurisdictions.

Chris Looney, Chief Commercial Officer at Bragg Gaming, said: “Our partnership with Interlaken is another important step in our efforts to grow our game provision in the industry.

“Switzerland is a market with much potential and it’s a feather in our cap to have our content on such a well-respected brand there.”

Jens Sellgrad, Chief Operating Officer, at Interlaken, added: “We’re always looking to have the latest quality content available to our players and this agreement with ORYX certainly delivers that.

“The seamless manner in which the delivery has taken place is especially pleasing and we’re confident this solid start will continue through our relationship.”

RB Leipzig and 888sport – one of the world’s leading sports betting providers – have agreed a partnership which will last until at least 2023 and the partnership will begin at the Bundesliga home match against FSV Mainz 05. 888sport has become an Official Partner of the Red Bulls.

Alongside significant TV-relevant advertising presence (such as Cam Carpets next to the goals, LED-board animations), 888sports will primarily be present on our digital channels. As well as the branding at the stadium, 888sport will become the presenter of the RBL predictor game, which gives fans a chance to win special prizes such as signed shirts, VIP tickets and season tickets for next season over the course of the campaign.

This will be 888sport’s first involvement in the Bundesliga, which makes it crucial that the partnership is designed in a way which fits both parties’ brands. The positioning of the multiple award-winning sports betting provider is one which is based on a readiness to innovate and the resulting reputation as a pioneer in the technology sector. 888sport wants to expand further in the German market and its motto “Safer. Better. Together” demonstrates its commitment to safe and responsible sports betting.

Matthias Reichwald, Chief Commercial Officer of RB Leipzig:

“As in the rest of football, we are always looking to strengthen in the area of partnerships, especially those who fit our philosophy and orientation. We have found one of these in 888sport and we’re proud that 888sport sees us as a suitable partner for their first entry into the Bundesliga.

888sport is an established brand who would like to grow further on a national and international level, which exactly corresponds to our vision, and now we can take on this challenge together.”

Kieran Spellman, Vice President Head of 888sport:

“We are proud to announce this long-term partnership with RB Leipzig, one of the most ambitious football clubs in Europe, and become their official partner. The team has developed at a rapid pace and shown how you can climb to the very top of Europe playing attractive, offensive football, having already come second in the Bundesliga and reaching the Champions League round of 16 last season.

We can’t wait to support the club with their future development and do our part to help RB Leipzig continue to establish themselves as one of the top three teams in Germany. This comes alongside the regulation and successful licensing for 888sport in the German online sports betting market. This partnership is a signal of 888sport’s long-term commitment to Germany.”

Pedro Barreda, Director International Marketing & Head of Sponsorships of 888sport:

“We’re looking forward to working with RB Leipzig and to being part of their journey for at least the next one and a half years. 888 are a world leader in their field, and RB Leipzig are one of the top clubs in European football, so this partnership is a perfect fit and will strongly support us with our ambitious plans for the newly-regulated German sports betting market.”
