Peter & Sons Welcomes New Hires as It Gears for Growth

Challenger games development studio Peter & Sons has welcomed two high-profile hires as the company expands its management following significant investment from global entertainment brand SkillOnNet.

SkillOnNet’s senior vice president of corporate development, Maor Nutkevitch, will join as co-CEO of Peter & Sons. Nutkevitch, who will retain his position at SkillOnNet, will help lead the company into the crucial second phase of its lifecycle as it braces for growth and expansion into key regulated markets.

Meanwhile, experienced business development professional Christina Mirnaia will come on board to lead the account management department. Formerly Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Barbara Bang, Mirnaia has an impressive track record in the online gaming industry that includes prominent roles at Entain and Bwin Party.

Mirnaia will work to deepen crucial existing relationships with clients like Yggdrasil, Relax Gaming and Bragg Gaming, while driving new engagements through Peter & Sons’ new RGS platform.

“It’s always exciting to join a fast growing project and to be part of building something special and Peter & Sons has been like a breath of fresh air for the industry,” Mirnaia said. “The games are already famous for their creativity, art, and math, and that makes my job a whole lot easier. Peter & Sons works with world-class artists, mathematicians, and musicians to produce some of the most innovative, creative, and entertaining slots on the market. These include richly themed fantasy adventure titles like the recent Book of Books, Dragon Blox and Legend of Musashi.

Nutkevitch said the company’s deal with SkillOnNet means the future is bright for the young studio.

“Peter & Sons’ partnership with SkillOnNet allows it to target many new regulated markets, such as the UK, Spain, Germany, Ontario and more,” he said. “Having the ability to distribute the games in many regulated markets is a fantastic platform for growth which is not always available for relatively new studios. It’s really exciting to be part of a project at such a key moment in Peter & Sons’ trajectory.”

GIANTX Promotes LVP Superliga Toplaner Th3Antonio to the League of Legends EMEA Championship Roster

Today, GIANTX is excited to announce an update to its LEC competitive roster. Antonio”Th3Antonio” Espinosa Bejarano is recognised as one of the most successful LVP Superliga players in the history of GIANTX, and he has now reached a pivotal moment in his career to compete in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC).

The LEC is the most important League of Legends competition in Europe and one of the most relevant in the international esports scene. The Barcelona-born ‘toplaner’ will be part of the lineup kicking off the LEC Summer split season in Berlin, which starts in June. As the community quotes; ‘Th3LEC’ is finally a reality.

Commenting on his new role, Th3Antonio said:

“This is the dream I’ve been working towards since I entered esports. I always wanted to compete at the highest level to face the best, and finally, I have this opportunity. I never stopped striving, and thanks to that and the work we’ve done together with all my teammates, we’ve achieved great things in Spain, but the LEC has always been my ultimate goal. Going to the LEC with my lifelong club, GIANTX, is a double dream. Everyone knows what GIANTX means to me”.

Having joined at a young age in 2017, Antonio ‘Th3Antonio’ Espinosa has become one of the most decorated players of the LVP Superliga and of GIANTX history. During his time with the team, he has won four Superliga titles, two Iberian Cups, one Copa, and has reached an EMEA Masters final, as well as other national competitions.

The decision to promote Th3Antonio reflects GIANTX’s need to implement changes following the results of the LEC Winter and Spring split seasons. In both splits, the team fell short in the first round of playoffs. The Summer split season is the main shot at Worlds for all teams, and the aim of the club was to make the necessary changes to achieve this goal. After a period of reflection and numerous trials, Th3Antonio has been chosen for the toplaner position.

  • Cash flow (excluding working capital and M&A) amounted to €5.4 (3.2) million for the first quarter of 2024
  • Earnings per share for the first quarter of 2024 were €0.107 (0.107)
  • The 2024 AGM will be held on 21 May 2024. The Board proposes that no dividend is paid out.

“For the first quarter of the year we posted revenue of €43.2 million, which was in line with our expectations, while expenses were at the lower end of our guidance at €39.0 million.

A key highlight of the quarter was the launch of LiveScore Group’s new Kambi-powered sportsbook in Nigeria, followed swiftly by a launch in the Netherlands. LiveScore was a pivotal signing for Kambi in 2023 and these launches mark crucial milestones toward our long-term objectives. We look forward to additional launches in the near future, including in its core UK market, ahead of a busy summer of sports with Euro 2024 and Copa América both set to commence in June.

The important signing of LiveScore, as well as other key 2023 partner signings, were partly dependent on us delivering on certain product requirements. As part of these product deliveries, we have been integrating external content into the Kambi platform, enabling operators to enhance their offerings and deliver even greater product differentiation. In Q1, for example, we integrated virtual sports, an important and complementary vertical to sports betting, while more recently we enlisted a third party to strengthen our horse racing product. With these deliveries we strengthen our flexible and high quality solution for partners.

Having made great strides on opening up our platform to deliver on these partner requirements, we are now picking up the pace with modularisation. This sharpened focus means we are preparing to provide modular Kambi odds feeds to those operating on their own technology and outside of our network. This means operators can, via a single API integration, access our full suite of sports odds, including those powered by Tzeract and Abios, enabling them to select their desired mix of sports, events and product types from a single source. Our market research shows demand for such a flexible and powerful solution, with operators today having to integrate with multiple suppliers with varying degrees of quality.

As part of our ongoing modularisation strategy, yesterday we announced Tzeract’s first commercial agreement since launching as a standalone division. Partnering with kwiff to provide its leading Bet Builder product will enable Tzeract to demonstrate the quality of its product via an operator outside of the Kambi network for the first time, an important milestone in the division’s progress.

In summary, we have continued to build solid foundations for the future. Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of product excellence and innovation, as highlighted by the development of our modular odds feeds, is positioning Kambi as a leader in shaping the future of sports betting technology.”
