FUT Esports Win Red Bull Home Ground EMEA Qualifier!
FUT Esports have just won the Red Bull Home Ground EMEA Qualifier, making them the final squad travelling to Tokyo, Japan, this November to battle the world’s most elite teams and compete in what is now a staple of the VALORANT calendar!
The EMEA Qualifier saw FUT Esports, FOKUS, Team Heretic and G2 Gozen all travel to Istanbul, Türkye, for a fight to earn the final spot in Tokyo. The two-day event began with a round-robin format, followed on the second day by a Grand Final between the two highest-performing teams. FUT Esports showed out on day one, going 3-0 with dominant wins over Team Heretics and G2 Gozen, alongside a tightly contested match with FOKUS–the other team to move forward to the Grand Final with a positive 2-1 showing.
Heading into the Grand Final FUT Esports looked strong, the Turkish team also having the added benefit of playing on their home turf. However, FOKUS came prepared, ready to take the fight to the hometown team. The first two maps, Ascent and Bind, saw back and forth battling as both teams seemed equally matched. However, FUT Esports took the close but compelling 2-0 lead, before taking the final map 13-7 and the overall victory.
Kicking off from November 3 – 5, FUT Esports will join 100 Thieves, ZETA Division, Cloud9, FNATIC, Scarz, DRX and FENNEL as the teams battling for the title of Red Bull Home Ground Champion. The tournament transforms Tokyo’s legendary Ryōgoku Kokugikan Sumo arena into the ultimate VALORANT battleground. The official VCT Off-Season event will see the most elite VALORANT squads from across the globe battle it out across many electrifying match-ups.
Red Bull Home Ground will also boast world-class hosting and casting talent. Iain Chambers will be heading up the event, with Tom ‘TOMBIZZ’ Bissmire, Mitch “MitchMan” McBride, Seth “Achilios” King and Clinton “Paperthin” Bader on the Casting and Analytics desk.
Red Bull Home Ground will be broadcast live from the Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo arena in Tokyo, live on Twitch and YouTube from November 3rd to 5th.

For the first time in our history, we have received a record number of applications, with over 30 cities from across all continents submitting their bids to host our signature Esports events.
The increased interest in hosting IESF events reflects the expansion of the Esports community and the impact these tournaments have had on the intern ational esports scene. From Europe to Asia & Oceania, Africa to the Americas, cities are making significant efforts to develop their local Esports ecosystems while also presenting their capability to host nations from around the world. The opportunity to serve as the home of Esports for a year is seen as a meaningful step forward, with long-lasting benefits in both the local and international growth of Esports.
“Over the last five years, IESF events have grown rapidly, and so has the excitement around hosting one of the world’s biggest esports events. IESF events are truly one-of-a-kind and bring huge value to our host nations – or as we like to call them, the “Esports capital of the world.’ It’s amazing to see this growing interest, and we can’t wait to continue bringing the global Esports community together through these incredible events.”- stated Boban Totovski, the General Secretary of IESF.
We are now thoroughly reviewing the applications to determine which cities meet our criteria and requirements and align with IESF’s core mission of developing Esports in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
IESF is dedicated to ensuring that every event we host leaves a meaningful and lasting impact. The upcoming selection of our host cities will shape the future of many Esports communities across the globe and redefine the Esports landscape by supporting new emerging regions and strengthening the existing ones.
