Over 485,000 entries in series events

GGPoker reveals details of the recently completed WSOP Super Circuit Series, hosted in partnership with World Series of Poker.

The online poker tournament series ran from May 3 through 31 and consisted of over 500 individual events. Eighteen WSOPC Ring Events headlined the series, each of which awarded a coveted WSOPC Gold Ring to the winning player.

The WSOP Super Circuit Series exceeded operator expectations; the following statistics attest to its popularity:

  • Number of Series Events: 516

  • Total Series Guarantee: $102,365,000

  • Total Series Prizes Awarded: $134,706,274

  • Single Biggest Event Prize Pool: $12,372,500 (WSOPC Ring Event #8: HR Championship $10M GTD)

  • Total Number of Entries: 485,851

  • Largest Number of Entries in a Single Event: 29,357 (WSOPC Ring Event #9: Mini Main Event)

The World Series of Poker is the most recognizable brand name in the poker world, dating from 1970, and its WSOP Circuit tournaments were first held in 2005.

GGPoker’s hosting of the WSOP Super Circuit Series ensured that hundreds of thousands of players dotted throughout the world had an opportunity to play in WSOPC Ring Events, satellites and supporting events; for many this was their first opportunity to experience the thrill of a WSOP tournament.

Much of the headline WSOPC Ring Event action was streamed live on Twitch via GGPoker.TV, which proved a massive hit with poker enthusiasts. This fun, edgy and comedic podcast-style show was hosted by Joe Stapleton and had GGPoker ambassadors such as Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu, ElkY, Felipe Ramos and Fedor Holz drop in to talk viewers through the action. Other well-known poker pros such as Maria Ho, David Williams, Matt Berkey, Jesse Sylvia, Marle Cordeiro and more also featured on GGPoker.TV during the series. All of the streamed action is available via archive videos on the GGPoker.TV channel.

“Over 500 events, more than 485,000 tournament entries and of course over $134 million in prizes awarded – the GGPoker community fully embraced and supported the WSOP Super Circuit Series.” said Jean-Christophe Antoine, Head of Business Development for GGPoker. “It was thrilling to witness all of the action, and to see every single Ring Event guarantee exceeded was something all players could be happy about!”

Ty Stewart, Executive Director of World Series of Poker, added, “The support of the gaming community for the WSOPC on GGPoker was insane. No guarantees were too big. Congratulations to all 18 ring event winners.”

New GGPoker players are eligible to claim the poker room’s Welcome Bonus and automatically join GGPoker’s Fish Buffet loyalty program, spinning for cash prizes each time they reach a new status level. In June 2020, over $2,000,000 in extra prizes will be awarded to GGPoker players via the poker room’s monthly promotions.

Gambling technology company Playtech has launched its new game “Live Deal or No Deal – The Big Draw.” This bouncing ball game is based on the iconic TV gameshow, Deal or No Deal.

“We’re delighted to be bringing the excitement of one of TV’s most enduring formats to Live. With the addition of the mini draw side game, allowing players to buy multiple tickets with up 6 points of decision making during the game, whether it be to buy more balls or take the bankers offer, Live Deal or No Deal – The Big Draw brings the player a new level of engagement and strategical involvement. For many players, Live play is as much about the experience as it is about gambling, and we’ve seen a growing trend towards gameshow-style formats – which is why we’re so confident Live Deal or No Deal will definitely be a big draw,” Edo Haitin, MD of Playtech Live Casino, said.

“We’re thrilled to be extending our partnership with Playtech through the launch of Live Deal or No Deal – The Big Draw.
