Ukraine Inches Closer to Gambling Legalisation

According to the preliminary schedule of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the parliament may consider the bill on legalisation of gambling in Ukraine this week.
Thus, according to the schedule, on June 18, MPs plan to review in the second reading the bill №2285-d on state regulation of activities related to the organisation and conduct of gambling.
The bill is actively discussed and covered by local mass media. The experts note that success of the industry and legalisation highly depends on the tax policy. Some MPs suggest the All-Ukrainian referendum may decide the issue of legalisation of the gambling business.
However, the majority of the experts and MPs agree the bill should be considered by the parliament. Ukrainian budget requires funding from the gambling industry.
