Hard Rock’s Music Memorabilia Collection Gets New Donations from Greek Music Artists

Jim Allen, the Chairman and CEO of Hard Rock International, has unveiled two new donations from Greek music artists to Hard Rock’s music memorabilia collection. The first one is a handwritten orchestral score of the renowned Greek songwriter and composer Mikis Thedorakis, from the work “Refusal.” The second donation is the beloved chaplet of Grigoris Bithikotsis.

Hard Rock International officially announced the company’s participation in the Greek Government’s RFP process to issue a license for an integrated resort and casino at the former Hellinikon Airport site in the historic city of Athens, Greece.

“We have always believed Athens to be one of the world’s great gateway cities and Hard Rock International envisions creating a must see destination that will help draw from the over 120m annual guests across 74 countries, driving year-round tourism and being an economic driver for Greece. This marks another step in the Company’s efforts to expand our world-class brand of entertainment and hospitality to Europe,” Jim Allen said.

The announcement follows over a year and a half of work on the project and if awarded, construction for the project is estimated to take 24–26 months.

“This announcement continues to illustrate Hard Rock’s commitment to Greece and the great city of Athens following our investment in the Company owned Athens Cafe when no one else was investing during the financial crisis in 2014,” Jim Allen added.

Microgaming Signs Distribution Agreement with Neko Games

Microgaming has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with game design and development studio, Neko Games.

The studio’s Super Showball video bingo game is live on Microgaming’s content aggregation platform from 26 May 2020, joining hundreds of new games being added throughout the year by the supplier’s diverse roster of exclusive independent studios and content partners.

“Video bingo games are particularly popular in LATAM, and the team at Neko Games have done a tremendous job with their debut title, Super Showball. We are pleased to welcome the studio to our content aggregation platform and look forward to working with them on further diversifying our portfolio for Microgaming customers worldwide,” Leon Thomas, Commercial Director of Microgaming, said.

Bertrand Méheut Steps Down as President of PMU

Bertrand Méheut has stepped down from his position as president of the French sports and horse racing betting operator Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU).

“Bertrand Méheut left his job in order to be able to devote himself fully to his personal commitments and other professional projects,” according to the press release by the PMU.

Méheut, who previously served as the President of Canal+, has been President of PMU since 2018. His successor will be appointed in the general meeting which will be held on June 9.

Even if he had no executive duties within the PMU, the departure of Bertrand Méheut challenges in this period of major turbulence for the operator.
