Casino Reopening
MGM National Harbor Resort and Casino has resumed its operations on June 29. The casino has implemented many safety measures such as “contactless” check-ins, single-use baccarat cards and Plexiglass at the casino.
Recruitments
Scientific Games Corporation has appointed Eileen Moore Johnson as its Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Eileen joins Scientific Games from Caesars Entertainment.
Sportech PLC has announced key changes to its Bump 50:50 team. The changes include the promotion of Dave Kurland to the position of President.
Jamul Casino has promoted Benjamin Petell to Vice President of Non-Gaming Operations. In his new role at Jamul Casino, Petell will oversee retail, food & beverage, facilities, security, and environmental services.
Financial Reports
Bragg Gaming Group has released its financial results for Q1 2020. Bragg reported revenue growth and Adjusted EBITDA growth for the period. The Group achieved revenue of €8.8m during Q1 2020. The Group’s AEBITDA was €0.8m, representing 100% growth over Q1 of 2019.
Casino table games developer and distributor Galaxy Gaming has published its financial results for the fiscal quarter ended 31 March 2020. The report shows that revenue decreased 15.9% to $4494K, AEBITDA decreased 25.7% to $1501K1 and net income decreased 74.7% to $117K.
Partnership
BenQ America’s esports division ZOWIE has partnered with Helix eSports. As per the deal, ZOWIE will outfit Helix eSports’ gaming and virtual reality centres with top-performing esports monitors and provide prizes for upcoming competitions.
Penn National Gaming has entered into a deal with sports data and content provider Sportradar to use official National Football League data on its sports betting platforms.
DraftKings Inc. has extended its deal with the US-based sports data firm Stats Perform. The deal provides DraftKings access to Stats Perform’s unparalleled sports data feeds for use in its daily fantasy sports contests and DK Live, the company’s play-by-play fantasy app.
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has extended its strategic partnership with Camelot Lottery Solutions for a further two years. The agreement will see Camelot Lottery Solutions continue to work with the ASL to help implement its commercial plans, with a greater focus on data-driven insights and business intelligence.
Innovative boutique studio Espresso Games has integrated its gaming content into Rivalo’s network and its games are now available for the Colombian market.
New Approvals
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has approved the amendments that will allow cashless gaming in all casinos. The proposal had been discussed and postponed for a long time, but hygiene concerns due to the Covid-19 pandemic have increased the urgency for the regulation to finally be adopted.
New Study
The UNLV International Gaming Institute (IGI) has announced a new study to assess the sports betting and internet gaming markets in the US. The study will address many unanswered questions on the potential impacts of legalising sports betting and internet gaming across the US.
Lawsuit
The Culinary Union has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Culinary Union members who work in casinos on the Las Vegas Strip in order to protect workers and their families from the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.
Compliance
Caesars Entertainment Corporation has announced that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has accepted a proposed consent order which concludes the FTC’s review of Caesars’ pending merger with Eldorado Resorts.

In honour of its fourth anniversary, Live! Casino Pittsburgh has officially unveiled a $3 million capital investment project designed to enhance its gaming and entertainment offerings. Now officially open to the public are the new Live! Poker Room, a High-Limit Table Games Room and The Social Club, a private meeting and event space. Live! Casino team members were joined by government and business leaders for a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony in the new Poker Room, where legendary Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup champion Phil Bourque played the ceremonial first poker hand.
The newly reimagined Rio Hotel & Casino has officially joined the Destination by Hyatt brand, following the completion of the resort’s first phase of its $340 million property-wide transformation. As part of the Destination by Hyatt brand and award-winning World of Hyatt loyalty program, Rio connects guests and members to both the people and place of Las Vegas – offering guests a sense of belonging and the immersive experiences they crave. Rio is owned and managed by Dreamscape Companies.
The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board announced that it has recently adopted an updated sports betting policy for all licensees, officials and employees. Effective immediately, the policy prohibits unethical betting practices and reinforces the commitment to maintaining fairness and public trust in combative sports, including boxing, wrestling, extreme wrestling, kick boxing and combative sports exhibitions, events, performances and contests.
Superbet Brasil has become the first betting house to pay the R$30 million (US$5.2m) concession required by the government to become a regulated company. To be able to make the transaction, the “Bet” (as the operators are called in Brazil) had to meet all the requirements of the Ministry of Finance in the document evaluation phase.
Alex Dixon, president and CEO of Q Casino & Resort and the Dubuque Racing Association has resigned his position, effective in January. Dixon has held the position at Q Casino in Iowa, US, for three years, taking over from Jesus Aviles in 2021. He has overseen the complete interior remodel of the venue which included the addition of an all-ages arcade.
BetMGM announced a major enhancement to its customer experience by consolidating BetMGM Reward Points (BRPs) into a single account. In addition to users’ cash balance, this feature enables BetMGM Rewards Points to travel with them across jurisdictions.

Jackpot.com announced an exclusive collaboration with 7-Eleven Inc., the largest convenience store chain in the world, to serve as their official lottery courier service. As part of the collaboration, 7-Eleven customers in Ohio and Massachusetts will be able to sign up and play lottery games and scratchers on the Jackpot.com app or website.
Nuvei Corporation announced that it has been selected by Delaware North’s interactive gaming division to power deposits and payouts for Betly, its online real-money casino and sports betting brand. Delaware North operates Betly in West Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee and Ohio in the US. This partnership enhances the player experience at the checkout, streamlining both the deposit and payout processes for Betly customers across their online casino and sports betting profile.

Two of Alabama’s leaders in the hospitality and tourism industry — Wind Creek Hospitality, owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, and the McGregor family, owners of Birmingham Racecourse and Casino and Victoryland Casino — announced that they have entered into an agreement under which Wind Creek will acquire the Birmingham Racecourse. The sale is expected to be finalised by early 2025.
Kaizen Gaming Colombia, owner of the Betano.co brand, was authorised by Coljuegos to operate online betting in the country. With this new operator, there are now 16 web platforms that have the approval of the entity to market games of chance online. The entity is also in the process of authorising an additional operator called Bingo Casino, which is expected to begin offering bets in the coming weeks.
Gaming Laboratories International has become the first laboratory to achieve accreditation in Maranhão, Brazil. The accreditation allows GLI to perform tests and certification for the gambling and lottery industry interested in working with lottery and fixed-odds betting operators in the state of Maranhão. The milestone is the latest in a series of regulatory achievements for GLI in Brazil.

Cisco and MGM Resorts International announced that the companies have signed a Whole Portfolio Agreement (WPA), empowering MGM Resorts with the majority of Cisco’s software portfolio. This includes cybersecurity, software defined networking, software defined-WAN, digital experience assurance, full-stack observability, data centre and services. This agreement spans 5.5 years, benefiting guests and employees across all of MGM Resorts’ properties.
Endorphina has entered into a partnership with Luckia, a leading company in the gaming sector. Combining Endorphina’s passion for slots with Luckia’s innovative spirit, this partnership is set to provide incredible gaming experiences to all iGaming enthusiasts. Golden Entertainment Inc. reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30. The Company reported third quarter revenue of $161.2 million, net income of $5.2 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $34.0 million. In addition, on November 5, the Company’s Board of Directors authorised the Company’s recurring quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share of the Company’s outstanding common stock payable on January 7, 2025 to shareholders of record as of December 20, 2024.

Galaxy Gaming Inc., the world’s largest independent developer and distributor of casino table games and technology announced, at a special meeting of its stockholders held on November 12, 2024 (the Special Meeting), Galaxy Gaming stockholders voted to approve the Company’s acquisition by Evolution Malta Holding Limited (Evolution), Evolution AB (publ)’s wholly owned subsidiary. Galaxy Gaming will file a Form 8-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission reporting the final voting results of the Special Meeting.
Caesars Virginia has announced that its highly anticipated opening date will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024. The resort will welcome its first guests beginning at noon. Additional details on the opening festivities will be announced at a later date. Caesars Virginia is a 587,000 square foot casino resort with more than 90,000 square feet of gaming space.

NGX has entered into a strategic partnership with Sportradar, a global leader in sports integrity solutions, which collaborates with more than 180 sports federations and leagues. The agreement aims to support the Brazilian football federations of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Pará, providing detailed reports to ensure the integrity of sporting events and combat fraud.
EvenBet Gaming has announced the launch of its advanced poker solutions in partnership with JugaMax, one of the largest and most respected casino operators in Paraguay.
