Indian Esports Gamers to receive Official Ranking, Leaderboard by Indian Gaming League

The Indian Gaming League (IGL) has released the first-ever national ranking system based on the open ranking tournaments played in the last two months to determine the best performing smartphone gamers in the country. In its bid to streamline Esports as well as bring in legitimacy among the gamers involved, IGL released the national rankings for Call of Duty Mobile in Multiplayer, Battle Royale and Women’s Multiplayer format.

The performance of the teams in the tournaments hosted by IGL (Indian Gaming League) in the months of December 2020 and January 2021 was considered while announcing the rankings.

Team Insane, that came first in the rankings, scored 206.5 points during the matches and were declared the top team in the Call of Duty (Mobile) category followed by Team Blind Esports, who scored 204, and team Heroes Official, that scored 201.

Esports witnessed exponential rise in the pandemic which catapulted the urge to create a community closer and build a much bigger plethora of professional athletes in order to determine the future of Esports in India.

IGL said that it will continue with the process of announcing national rankings for various games in the future as well.

WePlay Esports will broadcast the tournament in English and Ukrainian in the homecast format. The fourth season starts on May 24.

The fourth season of the CS:GO tournament WePlay Academy League starts this week. The first, Group Stage will kick off on May 24 and run till June 6, with a possible tie-breaker held on June 7. During this stage, the two teams with the best performance will join the Playoff Stage. The rest of the teams will compete for the remaining two slots in the playoffs during the Gauntlet Stage.

Tournament organizer WePlay Esports will broadcast the tournament in English and Ukrainian in the homecast format.

GEMS Secures 50M Investment Commitment from GEM Digital Limited

GEMS has announced that it has secured a $50 million Investment Commitment from GEM Digital Limited (GEM Group), a digital asset investment firm based in The Bahamas. GEM Group actively sources, structures and invests in utility tokens listed on over 30 CEXs and DEXs globally.

The new capital will be used to further enhance GEMS products and expand the ecosystem globally, with a primary focus in Asia.

GEMS, the Esports 3.0 Platform, currently has more than 80 blockchain and Esports companies as partners, most of which are pioneer, top-tier investors or world class leaders in the industry. As its expansion plan is inclusive and aggressive, GEMS welcomes new GameFi partners to join in.
