PRAGMATIC PLAY GIVES BACK DURING THE HOLIDAYS WITH A €30,000 DONATION
The supplier makes a large contribution to key NGOs in Malta
On the 30th December 2020, Pragmatic Play, a leading content provider to the gaming industry, has donated €30,000 to three separate non-governmental organisations in Malta.
In response to a challenging year that has impacted all businesses and individuals on the island, the company has taken the initiative to care for those most vulnerable within society by contributing €10,000 to the St. Jeanne Antide Foundation, Malta Hospice Movement, and Good Shepherd Sisters.
All of the selected charitable corporations provide support for the most in need in the Maltese community, with focuses on family support, palliative care, and domestic violence victims.
Pragmatic Play has a large presence in Malta, with a key hub office located in Sliema, employing a strong team in the country, further demonstrating its commitment to the Mediterranean nation.
Lena Yasir, VP of Malta at Pragmatic Play, said: “2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and we are determined to give something back to the community, in particular those individuals that have been hit hardest in recent times.
“The organisations we have chosen to donate these sums to are worthy recipients, all of which contribute immeasurably and we’re very pleased to be in a position to help them in an even greater period of need. Veikkaus signs partnership agreement with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association
Veikkaus continues its long-term partnership with Finnish ice hockey. The Finnish Ice Hockey Association and Veikkaus have agreed on a comprehensive partnership that will continue until 2030.
“Ice hockey is a major Finnish spectator sport that strongly resonates with and moves people. At Veikkaus, we have a long-standing and successful cooperation with Finnish ice hockey and Leijonat, of which we are proud. It’s very important to us that this long and successful journey continues for many years to come”, rejoices Reija Laaksonen, Veikkaus’ EVP, People, Culture and Communications.
Ice hockey is an important sport for Veikkaus from the perspectives of betting offerings and the company’s brand. The Finnish national Lions teams are a source of pride for Finns, and Leijonat matches are top offerings in Veikkaus’ betting.

Overcoming design challenges
Developing a homepage that effectively conveys the platform’s multifaceted nature presented significant challenges. “One of the biggest hurdles was creating a design that works across all 18 language variants of the website,” says the team. “What can be expressed with a single short word in English may take several words in languages like German or Finnish. Achieving this without compromising usability or design was no small feat.”
This redesign is only the beginning. Casino Guru is already working on Phase Two, which will introduce new sections to the site. These will include expanded user reviews, enhancements to the complaints resolution section, and an entirely new segment dedicated to responsible gambling.
