New research has revealed the most popular video games on social media in 2022 – from Elden Ring to God of War Ragnarok.

The study conducted by USwitch analysed the popularity of video games released in 2022 on social media based on TikTok views, Instagram posts and Reddit posts, to reveal the most popular video games on social media in 2022.

Elden Ring is the most popular video game on social media in 2022. With 6,000,000,000 Tik Tok views and 356, 997 Instagram posts, Elden ring is one of the biggest game releases of 2022 so far. The game’s elements of taking gameplay from the Souls franchise and combining it with a story by George R. R. Martin has scored huge numbers across social media.

Dying Light 2 comes in second place as the most popular video game on social media in 2022. The sequel to 2015’s Dying Light has earned itself huge numbers on social media. Dying Light is a survival horror game popular on Reddit with 8,100,000 posts across the platform.

Overwatch 2 makes it in the top three of 2022’s most popular video games on social media. The game is a first-person shooter game and the sequel to 2016’s original Overwatch. The video game is ranked highly across social media platforms, earning itself 262,100,000 Tik Tok views and 119, 565 Instagram posts.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the sequel with the most improvement with critics scoring it 22 points higher than the original.
Counter-Strike is the game that has stood the test of time with a 2,319% growth since its release in 2012.
